Always wondered what happened there, he was a least behind the scenes for three banging albums w/ Josh Homme and was touring with them off and on w/ Queens and then was with them for every Vultures gig, then poof he's gone. If I remember right, there were a couple interviews w Josh @ the future of Vultures and he basically told them to ask Alains.

Mike Patton, the voice that can launch a thousand super groups. He knows he doesn't even need to be in the damn music video. One superfluous vocal track is all it takes to turn the Pattonites onto a cool new band. A band we stubborn idiots probably wouldn't even listen to without the Ipecac blessing. Worked for the Melvins.

I believe that Johannes should be the new singer of my favorite band Soundgarden, one of many reasons is that he was an important part of Cornell's early solo work and the chemistry was inspiring, esp. with live solos on songs like Steel Rain. If two virtuoso guitarists were in Soundgarden a new level of instrumental sophistication could compensate for the loss of Cornell's peerless vocal style, range, and ingenious compositions.
