I have heard that you actually take 1hp of damage when you shield, so if that's correct the alolan sandslash must have actually been at exactly 1hp when alakazam hit it with dream eater I mean fire punch

I don't know if it has been commented yet, but at 21:57ish I think you were confused by the fact that they died while shielding. It's because they had exactly one health, and a shielded charge move resolves as one damage taken. Rarely matters, but hilarious when it does!

21:49 I had that happen a couple days ago, shielding a Pokemon that still went down immediately, it’s weird. I liked the idea of dissecting some battles though, it’s a learning experience for all. I personally don’t record and analyze my battles so this can help make up for that and hopefully help us all be better-prepared to make tough decisions in the heat of battle. There were also a few spicy picks in this video, the most interesting to me being the Alolan Sandslash...it makes me want to best-buddy my 98% and try it out. 🤔

I've always been afraid of using Alakazam because I've felt like a stiff breeze is enough to take it down, but it gets to Fire Punch fast and can deal a lot of damage. Very cool.

I've started using Alakazam in UL Premier too. Right now I'm trying it With Future Sight instead of Shadow Ball. It takes a long time to charge, but it basically OHKOs everything if they don't shield it. And I do like the extra analysis that that you had there at the end there. I think it's really helpful to go into your decision making in more detail

Please - Always do the breakdowns at the end. It’s really interesting and saves a trip to pvpoke. If people don’t like that bit they could move on. Loving your videos. and im not here to rant, but because of the Lag/bad coded update that we had on android.. i got stuck at rank 6 for almost 2 weeks.. its was not playable at all. finally after yesterday we got a patch and now im arriving Cold turkey in Ultra premier.. and i am struggling.. I dont have any stardust, and i dont have many good Ultra Mons.. GBL is so expensive. I was very happy that rank 9 was achievable, but we got held back for a long time just because of lag and bad coding. Its terrible and it broke all the fun in GBL for me to be honest. RIP rank 10, once i managed to get rank 7 then thats where i will leave it at. I am also a busy man, getting 25 matches done in a day is impossible for me. Loving your videos Zyonik!! Keep up the good work.

I think i figured out how the algorithm is working. Today i took my team and started to perform quite well 4-1, 4-1 but second loss to a Togekiss lead which i d very rarely seen before and counters my team pretty hard, then in the next 2-3 with 2 loss due to Togekiss. 4th set and Togekiss is basically in every team. Seems that the game is kind of figuring out to which type of team beats you and if you re winning too much you get progressively countered. I mean that cant be random that i played for 3 full days with this team and saw like 2 Togekiss and today it s everywhere.

Had a decent 17-3 run today with Swampert, A Muk and Gallade. Last round, one win short from 5-0, Muk and Gallade in the back against Clefable and their only win condition was to get a Moonblast drop and they got it so the Sludge Wave barely wasn't enough to KO Clefable. Talk about the play of the week for them!

I think that Alolan Sandslash fainted when it shielded because a Pokémon still loses 1 HP when the shield blocks the attack. It literally had 1 HP and you ruined its dreams. :)

I think the venusaur match which you analyzed, you would have lost anyways because icy wind would not have killed venusaur and he would have farmed a bit more and got to two frenzy plant before you would have got to fire punch

Zyonik, you missed a relevant counter user to try out - Escavalier. Use your Tangrowth to draw out the fire types / flyers and Escavalier absolutely walls Venusaur. I run it with a Gyarados lead (my anti-fire and anti-dragonite) with a Venusaur safe swap (I want to try Tangrowth instead)
