I remembered their reference for mostly of their choreography is from PH folk dances with a touch of modern dance, it's like their way to promote the culture of PH.

The attire is based on clothes during Phl precolonial era. Considering that Alamat is using mostly Cebuano language in the song, I think the scene is a nod to a part of the Phl history, "battle of Mactan", where Spaniards' 1st attempt to invade the Phl shores in Cebu was twarthed by our ancestors. :)

i think it might be a reference to how europeans landed in the bahamas and thought they were in asia, hence the caribean music, but then it ends with reference to magellan in mactan and how he was actually returning to the philippines from a previous trip, but was commissioned by spain because he was thinking about returning to the philippines day and night or it could b e a reference to how a statue of the virgin mary was left in cebu and when the spanish came back, it was in a shrine and the natives had never forgot about it. day and night in visayan, the dialect of where magellan first landed.
