Melt butter( butter is where a lot of the flavor comes from) and add whole milk, canned oysters (canned are already cooked) salt and pepper to taste and heat till steaming hot but not boiling. Some oyster crackers and you have a great warm meal.

Everything we tried at Alamo Steakhouse was so tasty, @Christine Chance! The portions are huge as well. We definitely, recommend this restaurant. One of the very nest things you do is take your young children to nice places. My parents did the same and we didn’t really appreciate it in the early years. However when we would talk with our buddies in high school, and learned that they stayed home with a sitter and ate pizza when their parents went out, then we knew how special it was. I’m sure Gentry and Henry will feel the same if they don’t already.

Everything was so flavorful, the service was top notch, the music was perfect, the atmosphere was nice, and we love the fact that not only did they have fun entertainment for our boys (and us….lol) to use their creativity, but their kids’ menu had way better options than most restaurants. i finally weened my hubby off well done to medium well to medium and sometimes he will do mid rare. he knows its better less cooked. the more you cook a steak, a steak is a muscle and it tightens up and dries out.

We went to the Gatlinburg Alamo for the BOGO special. Barb loves the chili rubbed pork chops and of course I got a big steak. We have never had a bad meal at Alamo.

There are a couple of good steakhouses in the area that have a buffet - The Peddler is one of them and The Park Grill is another one. They're both owned by the same parent company but they both have different offerings and menus.

6:24 - actually, many places, like steak houses, buffets, etc, stopped putting out the condiments because some said there was stealing and also it saves them money when they dont put them out for use.

Fun fact: if you have never been to The Peddlar on River Rd (down from the Aquarium) go INTO the restaurant at 3:30pm/ an hour before they open) to make a reservation to get a window seat. If you call, you may not get 1 until later in the evening.

Acme Oyster House stated in NOLA in 1910 and didn't venture out of LA till 2002. It's like eating at a Popeyes or Copelands in TN and saying you heard they had one in NOLA as well.
