According to Syntaur (The Synth Wizards), there were no "Rev 2" Prophet 10s. All double manual Prophet 10s had Curtis chips.

Roland!!! I used to live in SA and loved our many synth talks at Sam Ash back in 2004-2008. Glad to hear your knowledge presented here on Alamo Music’s KZbin channel. They’re lucky to have you! 😁👍🏼

He wasn't a fan of the Yamaha Genos 2 so they sent him to re-education camp in Japan after which all further contact was lost.

Damn, seeing another Roland that’s just as enthusiastic about vintage synths let alone the prophet 10 being your favorite is just surreal. The prophet 10 is just such a gorgeous beast and I would love to see a rev 1 of these one day. However, I will say I do prefer the rev 3 slightly more than the rev 1/2 on the p-5/10. The Ssm 2040 is for sure a better filter with suuuuper hot resonance but the 2050 envs are not as snappy and organic as the CEM 3310s found on the rev-3. Such a gorgeous video and I can’t wait to see what you guys have planned. -Roland

Thanks for making this video. I have the new Rev 4 version of the Prophet 10. However, I was just curious about some of the differences between the newer Prophet 10 and the vintage dual manual keyboard version. I was already aware of some of the obvious differences, like the separate sound engines for each keybed and the built-in sequencer, and if course, it's huge size with two keyboards making it look somewhat more like an organ. I think someone not long ago posted one of these on either Facebook Marketplace or Reverb for a whopping $40,000!!!! Anyway, while watching this video, I was very intrigued and surprised to hear you mention the dual manual Prophet 10 has an equalizer built right in, and its settings can be saved per patch! WOW! That's a neat feature. Aside from the additional features of the large dual manual Prophet 10, I think any version of the Prophet 10 from Rev 2 up would be great to own. They all sound excellent. I'm really happy with my Rev 4, and I would like to eventually compliment it with a high-end Oberheim (like an OB-X8) someday. But yeah, the Prophet 10 (any version) sounds MASSIVE!!!

I have a prophet 10 and it doesn’t sound like that 🥲 I have the desktop version and seem to get a lot of noise in the low end. May I figure it out and experience such lush sound 🙌🏽🙏🏽

Can’t really compare the new re-releases to this original unit, at least not until your P-10 has 40 years of use on it as well.

@@kierenmoore3236 I actually did try something new. I have a behringer pro-1, and connected a cv cable from the lfo out into the P-10 amp env pedal insert. When in a fast rate I got some clean saw type sounds with low end and top end

@@SoYBrownSugga Might help you diagnose the low end noise issue? Unless it is a known issue with newer P10s, there must be a fix for it …
