Thanks for showing these Guilds. I had received an announcement from Guild about these and was wondering what they were about. Even through a TV speaker I can hear the amazing sound from these! Thanks for doing the demo! As the great Bob Uecker would say..."Just a bit outside" my price range!

Oh Guild guitars have been my great love for years .... I purchased a Guild F 50 bld, top of the line jumbo in 1974 - x-mas time .... and I still play it now and then. It sounds wonderful .... But time has made it a bit fragile !

Guild jumbos are fantastic. The maple F-50 is the best guitar ever made in my personal opinion. Love the F-40s too.

I had a d40 traditional and fit and finish wasn't right so I sold it 6 month ago. So I have to say I did love the sound and playability. I giving the model a retry and purched a sunburst version today from GC hopefully when it arrives next week fit and finish will be better this time my video will be up by next weekend check it out.

I hope Guild ,Oxnard, produces a D-50 Bluegrass Jubilee with Adirondack top and true full gloss! I've had a 70's Westerley Rhode Island built and a 2006 Tacoma built D-50. Great guitars!

My 1988 D50 is the only guitar I will never sell, not that it is perfect but for the money it can't be beat. But it is perfect enough for me!

I had a JF-30 back in the day and always liked it. In the 90's Guild had a thin cutaway with electronics with the D55 fingerboard inlays that I wanted but it sold and I picked up a Gibson EC10. I like the D50

Hi, I am a huge fan of your videos! However, I have a suggestion. Chris plays the same pieces in most of his videos. So I can play different videos and compare the tones between guitars. As much as I love Cooper, he plays something different with each guitar. Sometimes he does the chicken picking even on the acoustic. My suggestion is that he plays several styles of music but the same thing so I can better hear the contrasts between guitars. Thanks for listening!

I liked the D50 best. Just something about Rosewood tones that sucks me in. All three are great sounding guitars, and the aesthetics appeal to me- quality with less bling.

The D50 isn't as rich and full as the D55, but it's really close. Very nice sounding guitars.

​@LegsON could be the finish. Apparently the same woods are used except it doesn't have as much aesthetics as the D55. When I listen to a D55, I hear more overtones in the midrange, especially when playing an E Chord. The D50 is rich on the bass like the D55 but is missing the overtones in the mids. Still a fantastic guitar.

On the specs I noticed the D-55 is AAA spruce top, but for d50 it just says spruce. So a higher grade wood would is likely to make a difference, assuming this is the case

@@ubermod5564 It is very possible. Also the D55 has Adirondack Spruce Bracing, which I can't remember if the D50 has "would have to watch the video again". There are a lot of things that can affect the tone of a guitar. Yet that difference alone is what sets the 2 guitars apart.

Yes ..by acquiring Cordoba Music Group in Feb 2023 that also owns Cordoba guitars, Guilds (founded 1953, acquired by Cordoba Music in 2014), HumiCase, DeArmond (pickups maker), Savares and Aquila.

I had two Guilds. D55 and their famous F512 twelve string. Both (like all my guitars) hanging in my office/studio. While working at my computer there was a sudden crack and bling sound noticeable. What had happened? The 12 string Guild had developed a significant crack in the top a few centimeter next to the bridge. The only good thing was my helpful dealer who took it (3 months old) back and fully reimbursed the money. The D55 was sold on a few weeks later - end of the Guild chapter on my guitar journey. It takes probably more to build a new factory than bringing Ren Ferguson in as a consultant and driver for marketing.

keep it in the case with humidifier at least for the first year , needs time to settle in the new climate
