Alan Cassidy - The Black Dahlia Murder Drum Rig Rundown

Here it is finally. An explanation of all the gear that I use live. The only things that I left out were the rack which is a pearl icon rack, the hardware which is all Tama hardware, my pearl demon drive pedals and my Shure SE215-CL in ears. Hope you find this informative.

I figure he either bought it from Shannon or it was the band's kit to begin with. I think most touring drummers have two kits, one at home and one with the band.

He gave it to the band when he left cause he had a second one and they needed a kit for a future drummer to use during the future auditions and touring for them if they didn’t have good gear to use. Need to sound pro at all times.

This dude came in to my store last night and saw my TBDM sweater and goes, "man, that really sucks, huh..." and I'm a workaholic and was unaware... So I was confused and asked what he meant... Sorry to hear about Trevor... The band will never be the same. I was just getting used to you being in the band and now this... Obviously, it sucks far worse for other reasons, but... Fuck... Hope you guys stay together and I can't think of the right word, but hope you find someone "worthy" of vocals... Goes without saying to take all the time you guys need... I've seen you guys 4 times, 2 with Shannon and 2 with you. Fuck, man... Fuuuuuuck... Hang in there...

Love vids like this, thanks for the upload man! Hopefully there can be more informative stuff in the future too. I'd take anything like technique rundowns or even like song analysis type stuff haha This kit layout is pretty legendary imo, it really is the perfect setup without going over the top. It's really cool to even go all the way back to live vids of Zach doing Miasma stuff and seeing nearly the same kit layout, and this actually being the same shells from Shannon's time is really cool. The layout being so consistent kind of ties the albums together too, every song can be recreated perfectly live and it works so well with the different styles each drummer brings to the table. Super sick stuff if you ask me

What are your settings for threshold/sensitivity on the kick trigger? i have the same set up but have some issues with double hits sometimes.

I can give you the settings when I turn it on next but it’s really gonna come down to your own playing, head tension, and stuffing to make it work for you
