I disagree. Audio books are a different medium. The sound effects give these books a more radio show vibe. They add more to the story and add to the immersion. You kinda sound like the critics of "talkies", those who criticized the first movies with audio tracks. People hated actually hated that the movies had the actor's voices and heard actual dialogue and sound effects. Thankfully they were a minority and movies have actual sound.

No. I like the very rare use of music. This is an audio experience, not a reading experience. If you want no music or sound, read the book.
