The referee Emile (real surname name Ryder) was ever such a nice family man in Heaton Moor, Stockport. I remember him, his wife and daughters very well as I played piano for my aunt's dancing school as a lad.

Oooh Swad. Just up the road from me here in Leicester. Two terrific performers here. P.S we always use the term “Mardy” to refer to someone who is angry or has lost their temper. Never knew it was used for a coward/‘yellow’

....i was never to keen on J.B. in the era of my youth, many years later i am still not keen on the guy, that leaves A.D. as to why i viewed this match....though i never saw much of A.D. in the ring at matches i could attend non the less it's good that another match with A.D. is loaded to view and with some smart close in takes as well as good vid focus that enhanced the pleasure viewing factor....it's about 30yrs since Alan was taken from us of what i understand was a heart attack...?. ....Thanks for posting...

In 2023 there are not wrestlers with the range of moves that can work together. Aside, proper hard men.

Good match, loved the struggle at the end between the two over the sunset flip.

Apparently, he now suffers from dementia. He was always a real b*****d in the ring and there's no excuse for punching your girlfriend to death.

Brilliant work from Arthur Psycho. My theory on Breaks' jumping ( crybaby act ) is that he got so riled up his legs started to shake ( spotted it on one video ) so he jumped to hide it. Not the brightest brain in the ring he couldn't cope with fast moves, or Alan's amazing strength. Dennison was my hero back in the day. Never knew any recordings had survived.

Did Jim Breaks go to trial over the murder of his partner, for which he was arrested? News has gone quite on this since 2017

Jim Breaks was evidently a top class amateur wrestler and could therefore probably cope with anybody in a straight match. This is all acting.

Say what you will they were very fit and strong lads, breaks mostly won by foul moves most of his bouts consisted of trying to weaken his opponents arm.

most bouts ? every single one .lol

As a kid I lived in Leicestershire and when it was said the somebody was mardy it meant to us that the person was in a bad mood or disagreable mood.

Do you have any videos of the "feet on the ground" technical wrestlers that appeared in the early days of TV wrestling -Billy Joyce,Bill Howes,Jack Dempsey,Alan Colbeck Ted Hannon etc.Much more enjoyable than the acrobatic "blue eyed boys" or the overweight "belly bumbers" ? Do you know if a video exists of the infamous McManus v Preston bout where Preston didn't stick to the script.

Afraid not. My collection is 90% from the 80's, when I used to watch it on TV, with a small amount of 70s stuff (mainly featuring the 80s guys if you see what I mean).
