@@Will-mj6qh he had 'lenny', 'red' and another one with a black pickguard. Fairly sure this is 'red'. He liked using it for youll be mine

@@bensblues this is not “Red”. Red originally had a sunburst finish that was painted over with a fiesta red paint job. This guitar was a gift from Stevie but has a Dakota red paint job. The red guitar with the black pick guard was the same guitar called “Red” it just had a black guard.

@@scrap_metal_magic i was not aware they were the same guitar although in hindsight this is clearly not 'red' as stevie had a reverse headstock neck put on it in ~86, assuming wherever the guitar is it still has that neck, especially as the original neck is broken

@@bensblues if I remember correctly I read that “Red” had the reverse headstock neck because the original neck on red was taken and put on his #1 start because the neck on #1 was literally worn out and could no longer be refretted. I know that shortly before SRV died some stage equipment fell on to #1 and subsequently broke the neck. Rene Martinez had Fender send a new neck for SRV. When SRV died Rene put the original neck back on to #1 and gave the guitar over to Jimmie Vaughan.

Too loud. You need to be smooth.

You're saying this literally about one of the smoothest guitar players to have ever lived.
