I can’t imagine what Pep would have to fork out to buy Alan Hudson today. He would be perfect in that City team. There’s nothing out there today Messi included that could lace Geordies boots. He was something else. How privileged we were to have seen him play.

Alan Hudson was the best flair player in English football at one time. When players liked a tackle he just lured them in and skipped by. Real tight to his foot dribbler. Not lightening quick, but quick enough. Used as piece of meat by football clubs.

Alan Hudson could never have been as good as George Best. But he wouldn't have been too far behind. The biggest waste of talent in English football, not because he wasn't good enough far from it. He didn't apply himself and he is also a very bitter person due to that.
