It’s been 11 years since my mom left earth. I miss her every single day. A month ago I found an old Mother’s Day card in a tub of her keepsakes. I wrote “I hope I can make you proud someday” she wrote a note next to it “My son you have.” I broke down when I found this card. I was only 19 when she passed.

I remember my dad sitting out in the backyard on a October evening, going through songs on his phone, he came across this one and just sobbed. Phone call I had put off making earlier that day because of stupid chaos! Before I knew it it was morning of the next day, and God Damn it I didn't call my Dad. Wouldn't you know he would up and die that year. Well Dad know this-"I miss the hell out of hearing your voice, listening to you talking about one of your new mechanical tricks! And yes you'd hand me a magazine high-lighted so I would be able to understand what I was going to have to do to accomplish whatever the task was! You and Mom, what a beautiful example of true love in a 70 year adventure together. May your spirits always be sharing my families growing up. Dad your mom was sitting on foot of my bed the morning after you died. She told me that you were happy coming home and we're resting. She visits me regularly in my dreams...we catch up on the family. Then she stood up said gimme a hug, which I did. She was physically solid! She took the door handle stepped out of my room... Looked over her shoulder and said remember we will always love you and we'll always be near. Closed the door ...I stood there a moment then opened door and nobody was in kitchen or living room and no outside doors were heard opening or closing! PS : Happy Father's Day Dad!

I finally will get to see Alan Jackson perform on Sept 28 in AZ. Don't know if he'll perform this but I love this song. He wrote it for his kids' nanny who died in a motorcycle accident. Then his beautiful daughter lost her husband after only about 1 year of marriage. So sad but their faith keeps them strong.

I was relaxed with it and had alot of good memories I had with my parents and also of my sister and her husband who I lost both of them in 2019 almost 2 months apart from each other with him passing first from dimentia and a stroke and her with breast cancer she knew about but didn't tell anyone till about 3 weeks before we lost her. Words can't even describe the love I have for this song my mom passed away Christmas morning of 2013 cause by lung cancer its funny cause she was 90lbs wet and wearing boots but yet she was stronger then dad. For as long as I can remember the whole family called mom sissy (it's a southern thing) and always looked up to her. This song came out a few months before my Mom died and she was pretty sick by time I heard it play on the radio. I just remember pulling over on the side of the road and crying like a baby the very first time I heard it.
