this lovely guy Alan is really really important, he basically helped to launch Primal Scream, Felt, The Weather Prophets, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain and of course Oasis amongst others, a top indie label guy and my lifetime hero and Primrose Hill neighbour.. DIY is the best way forward, check out Anton Newcombe who did the same and created BJM

easy mate. if your a band...put your own record out and name make a label name yourself, and release it to anyone who will buy (ma and pa record stores/online etc) and they same if u find a band you like that you believe in...record the music, release it...(D.I.Y...)

No such thing these days, so it's as easy as making up a name and putting it on your band's online releases that 10 people will listen to.

This interviewer is a right pain. He asks a question and finishes it with what he thinks the answer should be, doesn't get that answer, and then tries to make his answer work anyway. Weird.

He (McGee) famously passed up the chance to release The Darkness (Justin Hawkins) after Bobby Gillespie laughed at a demo McGee played of the song I Believe in a Thing Called Love down the phone for Gillespie's opinion.
