Probably the most important and unique figure in the history of UK indie record label history. The dude worked so hard and brought so much beautiful and EXCITING art into the public consciousness.

Spot on. The big labels can ruin bands. Could you imagine big labels dealing with bands like The Happy Monday’s when they’d first started. 😂😂

Art project for Bill Drummond - edit all of the 'you know's in this interview together. McGee would put it out

50:30 - Alan could've kept HoL together "in that format" - his mistake was that stupid 70 date tour of places nobody had ever played before, nor would ever play again. It should've been billed the Sub-Toilet Tour. But the point is, that jaunt knackered the HoL. Wasn't that the one where Terry was torching £50 notes in the back of the van. Honestly - a tour like that could only end terribly.

Anyone who makes a success of anything doesn't throw it away to drugs, they have no wisdom, no soul, no spirit, no integrity. Now they bring out a book for us all to learn from. Fantastic, sure it's going to be full of motivation..... or lies...

Alot of identity coming from a fellow Glaswegian envious of not been listening to Bowie and Dylan at the time, £2.99 for an album, whal how society has changed.. for the worst lol

House of love without terry was shit . Terry was a livewire that bought edge and charisma to house of love, and his guitar playing and use of pedals were thrilling. The guitar player who replaced him had all the stage presence of a wet slipper. I'd have beaten the hell out of kevin shields .

It seems as though the interviewer doesn't really know what he's doing cos he sometimes doesn't know what to say hahaha

Does he mention Bob Mould or Sugar, or have they just been airbrushed out of history because they are not ‘British’?
