True Stories is great, one of the best (and most underrated) of the 80s. Happy to see that Criterion did a job on it.

Had no clue he was releasing new music! I absolutely loved VEGA INTL Night School, can't believe it's been 8 years since that came out. Don't know when I would've found out abt this new album if it hadn't been for this video, so, glad y'all had him over. Good picks too.

That album was the soundtrack to my first year of college. It was always an awesome album (one of the best of the decade IMO), but now it's extra special to me because when I hear it, I see images of my college town and friends :) I'd like to show some love for Psychic Chasms too, very different album but you can still tell it's from the same guy. I listen to it in the summertime and it's always fitting :)

I have a question is it a bad thing to sill collect DVDs in the 2020s because I know this an unpopular opinion, but I personally prefer DVDs over 4Ks and Blu-Rays because while I have nothing against Blu-Rays and 4Ks It's just that I prefer the DVD format since their cheaper to purchase and they have so much more personality in terms of Menus being vibrant and animated and Bouns Features being more robust (for the most part).
@matayolandas Жыл бұрын
@@maxtubb I prefer the crisper image. And I think the blu rays also have cool menus.
@maxtubb Жыл бұрын
@@matayolandas I don't know though because from my experience menus on blu-rays (to me at least) look kind of bland to me (Except for Criterion's Menus).

Fine film choices, although "MAÎTRESSE" lost me when Bulle Ogier's character had Gérard Depardieu's character urinate on one of her clients. It's one of the more uncomfortable films I've seen but is quite funny in an odd and twisted way. Not sure I want to watch it again. Thanks for mentioning the great artist Ralph Steadman in reference to "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." The film's surrealism is a wonder and does a fine job of portraying the disorienting experience of being under the influence of a hallucinogenic drug. Oh, and Benicio del Toro steals every scene he's in with a brilliant and edgy performance. Marvelous stuff!
