One of Ian Bairinson's greatest guitar parts to me is on the song Primetime I think that's one of the APP's most underrated Tunes he gives such a great Blues tone and some great soloing on that tune least in my opinion this was really cool Andy keep up the great work

A Mixolydian

Well, all of these "modes" contain the exact same notes, D ionian, E dorian, F# phrygian, G lydian, A mixolydian, B aeolian and C# locrian. What creates the modal sound isn't really the scale it's the tonal center of the backing track which in this case is B minor. Technically mode players would say that over the Bminor you're in B aeolian and over the G you're in G lydian and they would be right. You can't really say it's A mixolydian though because the tone center isn't A even though A mixo has the identical notes as B aeolian. Like I said before it's more about what the changes are that determine what mode you're in. Hope that helps and isn't too confusing! Cheers Andy
