Two great actresses who deserved so much better . Thank you Jill and Rachel and God bless you.

Lindsay Anderson, Rachel Roberts and Jill Bennet: spirits of an age long gone. Their memories forged in celluloid for us to remember them. I hope they will not be forgotten x

Rachel Roberts and Jill Bennett were two of Britain's finest actresses - and this in memory of them was beautiful! I felt so sorry for Jill; a very unhappy lady... May God Bless and remember you both. xx

A lovely way to say goodbye & to memorialize two great actors. Who could ask for a better send-off than to have Alan Price singing such a bittersweet farewell.

Alan, you look terrific. My hubby, Bob Barbara, was in a band called Dr. T & the Undertakers in the 60's and one of their songs was "I Put A Spell On You" and they got it from you. You might remember them. Now that I'm starting my career, I perform it also...my own version, of course, but I have listened to you sing it over and over and over again. Never get tired of it. God Bless and Love, Pat B.

Poignant - although I imagine many of the people on that boat are dead too, it is now to know that Alan Price is still with us aged 81 as of August 2023. Jill Bennett - loved her voice - and style. Of course JO was so nasty about her.

Alan Price is loved and appreciated in Russia. I mean people don't care about Putin and Kabayeva (his concubine) but love Price. Isn't it wonderul?

@Concatelli - Thank you for posting this. I remember both actresses as well and trained at R.A.D.A. myself where they both trained (many years later). Thank you also for the website details as Alan Price Online states he has no tour dates. It is the first one for google so this is a shame and perhaps you should try to get it and link it to your site. I love the music and hope to catch him perform again if he plays London.

If memory serves, the band was the Alan Price Project. He needed a singer, auditioned Eric Burden and the producers basically took the band away from him and renamed it The Animals. Their KZbin version of House of the Rising Sun is one of the best things on here but Price doesn't look too happy.

So thats all there is. The passage is short so care for the bit yer gonna get. No sadness here... take the hug and get onto the business of dancing and make it a ball for us all. Bye, Flo.

Then they threw in the ashes and the bouquets and said their little fond reminisces and I axed myself, is that all there is? Is that all there is to life if its all one big accidental cosmic fart bookended by the big nothingness? If that's all there is then let's play russian roulette with six in the chamber my friend...or just keep dancing with a silly grin meant to disguise the lie we livin that the thrill is gone-- roll out the booze and let's soak our minds til we think we're havin a good time and the naggin echo of the big nothingness is but the hallucination of the ocean in a seashell...

Has Alan Price recorded this commercially? I'd like this version, as opposed to the Peggy Lee one, played at my funeral. (I'm not planning on going anywhere yet btw!)

Sounds kinda McCartneyish on this one. But there isn't all there is. There is an Afterlife. A Heaven to gain, a Hell to shun, and a God to fear.

A sad end for Rachel Roberts and Jill Bennett. The Thames has seen a lot of comings and goings over the years, no doubt it will continue to do so.
