A wonderful; and yet, painful interview to watch. Alan was definitely showing signs of fatigue and sickness here. Despite how much he's missed, I'm grateful that he no longer suffers. Be at peace, sweet prince.

It's shocking how sick Alan already was... He did not deserve this! I love him so much! May he rest in peace! Still very much missed!

"And keeping the ghosts clinging to the walls". How poetic - particularly after his passing.

Looks both tragic and heroic. Hope there is an afterlife - this soul deserves eternity.

What he says at the end about funding for the arts being cut is so true, unfortunately, both in the UK and here in the US, where I live.

redcandy 45 he’s wearing the same outfit from the last photos taken of him on December 7th, 2015... I think this is from the same event.

Alyssa Benjamin-Bird I see what you’re saying, but he looks like he has more weight here than in that last precious picture of him, also his hair looks more full here too, I mean I’m not sure but it could be. He just looks very thin in that picture compared to him in this clip.

Interview is for the 60th Anniversary of the Royal Court Theatre which was in 2016. Seems logical that interview was in the last half of 2015, perhaps July? Definitely seems worn down. So very sad and so very missed.

When was this interview taken, if you don’t mind? As someone else has mentioned below in the comments, he’s wearing the same outfit also as the last picture of him. I don’t know if it’s the camera how it is filming him, but he looks a bit different here than in the picture, I’m curious though if this was filmed the same day that last picture was taken. Thank you❤️

I think it wasn’t taken at the same time as his last pic. He was a lot skinnier there. I think this must be the first half of 2015. Juliet Stevenson mentioned on a recent podcast, that he actually got the stroke due to the chemo - so whatever we read on Wikipedia/news is incorrect. He simply did not tell anyone outside his most trusted circle about his condition, until a few weeks prior to his death.

@@victoriamiddleton2164 also I am preparing you now: if you ever had someone dying you deeply loved, this will not be an easy part to listen to, because Alan was a trooper and a hero until the end and it’s heartbreaking. Even in his last moments he took care of others.

@@victoriamiddleton2164 I don’t think the links came though? It’s part of the “A Life Lived” series. Google it. The bit about his death is at the end of the second part.
