If you enjoy this scene, read or listen to _I, Partridge_ in which Alan recalls this event, but he makes himself seem like Jason Bourne in a big fight sequence lol!! He's an example of how it's described by Alan in the book!: _I bring my elbow back, hearing the satisfying sound of bone on gland. I’ve turned his testicles into a couple of bollock pancakes and it feels good. “Would you like lemon juice with them, sir?” I roar inside my head_ It's hilarious.

0:50: If you look just to the left of Jed, you can see a picture of Alan when he went to the owl sanctuary, which means that Jed had probably been stalking Alan ever since he moved to the Travel Tavern. Whilst this episode is very amusing it has a much darker tone than the other ones.

Interesting trivia: This is based on something that actually happened to the comedian Stewart Lee. The ‘obsessive fan’ later turned out to be radio DJ Christian O’Connell. The whole story was obviously exaggerated for Partridge, but that’s where the sketch originated.

I wonder who wrote that bit. There are a few lines where we get to hear Alan's imagination and it's always mental. Like the time when he's making up memories of seeing Bono eating the biggest bowl of Alpen. Or when he hears the guy with the voice-box and thinks he sounds a bit like a bad guy from Bond; "Dr. No..Vocal Chords." Or when he see's Dan's "promotional" video tape of him and his wife and he accidentally hits fast-forward Alan remarks "it's like a hardcore Benny Hill." He seems to have this consistent, playful imagination that I find really charming. I wonder if it was someone in particular on the writing team that always wrote things like that. Was it Coogan, or perhaps Ianucci? Alan 2.0, not so much, so maybe it isn't Coogan.
@quirkypurple3 жыл бұрын
@Withnail Good observation. I absurdist humour found in Morris/Iannucci's work. I think without Ianucci Partridge lacks a bit of soul. But Coogan is so good and knows the character inside out, it's almost hard for him to mess it up.
