I know a few people who get to write plays for Radio 4, and most people think theyre utter drivel. "Play in an Afternoon" Radio 4 would probably love it to be fair.

Agree - I think I've watched every format / show of Partridge and MMM is consistently the best. As you say, the acting, writing, jokes etc are absolutely brilliant. Quite like the fact that it's less well know than a lot of the other shows - it's a real hidden gem.

Oh goodness yes, had not noticed - he stole the Smash advert (a wonderful cultural reference in itself) to get the robot voice, and then didn't trim it properly. Damn. It's a bit of a masterpiece this clip

The fact that he tried to time the moment when the play restarted with his own live dialogue, and failed very slightly, is genius. It's like that round from I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.

It devolved into him advertising Rover again, and he was told to stop it so he dubbed over it. "I've never felt this.." Neutral! .."about a car before." Too bad it's not in the video.
