I always think it must be so painful for Steve and the brothers to write the show, as they have to get everything right or ‘wrong’ in Alan’s case, pretty much through the entirety of his dialogue. I’m sure they may have had to search up fashion faux pas, just for that one line.

@@arnyagal 100%. Something that’s made it easier for the writers & made it even more enjoyable for the listener, is: (and Alan would be delighted I’m comparing him to this,) is that Alan has become almost like a James Bond character/series, in so much as the fact that Alan’s character & plot lines develop simultaneously with current affairs; whether it’s news stories/fashion/cars/politics/social media, we get to hear Alan’s view on these topics. A lot of the time, we already know what his opinion will be before the words have left his mouth,(a good example, would be that we all know Alan would be Pro-Brexit.) Somehow, despite the fact we know this ahead of time, it makes us laugh even more when we he does eventually say it, perhaps because it complies with our confirmation bias on Alan & it just gives us that satisfaction we’ve all been waiting for. 😂
@arnyagal
@arnyagal 8 ай бұрын
So true, I love it when Alan tries to be hip and trendy but can't quite let go of his conservative views! Also when Alan can't help but put in the occasional 'digs' about certain topics, people or politics - classic example, the Irish TV producers, or even with Ruth in this show. We we're really hoping he was going to get her back, and then it was a sigh of relief when it finally happened 😂
