Thanks :) Hopefully you’ll enjoy more of my content! I would highly suggest going back to watching some of my guessing game series like the Monstercat Guessing Game or Skrillex or Not

Thanks for the commentary response! ❤️✌️ While I agree Golden Era of EDM should've been described as "Peak commercial era for EDM", that's not how I see things in the past 6 years, especially in commentary sections of big EDM charting channels like "Top Music Charts" and "EDM Charts". The term was often used to follow up their "EDM is dead/EDM nowadays sucks" insults, which made me sad and triggerred. 😟 Don't get me wrong, I will still acknowledge this Golden Era thing as long as it's used in a positive way. Trance music (1997-2001) will be a perfect example, since most of their fans remains supportive toward newer trance artists.

I like how this video actually has a good variety of hot takes where I agree and disagree with a good amount of them. Would like to see more of these kinds of videos!

I find it funny that my parents do know Alan. He is good, sometimes okay and sometimes really good imo. Fun that he was on MCAT and cool he started is big journey on NCS. So he entered the both two big boys of labels

Best bigroom house song ever to exist is Tremor by Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and I will die on that hill.
@raincastmusicАй бұрын
Respectable pick but I would probably go with either Turn Up The Speakers by Martin Garrix and Afrojack or Wolf by Blorjax
@DanielWalker.Ай бұрын
@@raincastmusic Turn up the speakers was good but it doesn’t hit as hard as Tremor for me. Not as much impact.
@raincastmusicАй бұрын
@@DanielWalker. thats fair, i can agree… And Tremor is a banger and a half

Euphoric Hardstyle is the kind of Hardstyle that has the melodies. Moreso than Rawstyle. Artists like Atmozfears, MYST, Wildstylez, and Refuzion are good sources to get that mix of melody and Hardstyle kicks

Wow i actually had similar thoughts abt AWs popularity, but none of his MC releases have been that great, but i mean hey, there are a whole bunch MC artists that have yet to put out smth good (Codd Dubz hehe) so i guess well just have to wait for it maybe hell be able to blow our minds if we give him a chance 👀

I will say this, I just listened to Find My Way and it is an amazing album by Trivecta. I especially like Ocean, Never Let Me Go, Watch The Stars and Oblivion.

I agree with the hardstyle comment. Like mostly with rawstyle and stuff like that I hate it so much 🤮 Definitely like happy hardcore and hard dance though.

Curious on people's thoughts here but: Someone told me they think monstercat is signing all of these 'big artists' because these artists like Steve Aoki, Alan Walker, and others have fallen far from the limelight and can thus be signed like other artists. I won't state my opinion on this, but curious on what others think.

Alan walker made a tutorial at some point showing how to make a song and used like almost purely AI so, i'm going to assume he uses mostly AI in his music, at least right now.

I used to be a big room defender, but at the start of this year Hardwell put out a track that was like a throwback to early big room, and it first it felt like an insult to early bigroom, I was thinking “surely it wasn’t this bad.” So I went back and listened to some of my favorites from that era and…holy shit it was that bad. Congrats hardwell, you ruined a genre for me. (To be fair, once the genre found its footing in 2014-2017, and started taking some cues from prog house, it got a lot better under the helm of artists like KSHMR)

10:06 2015 Monstercat listener here, I would have somewhat looked forward to an Alan Walker release, and then I would have been very disappointed if he released some absolutely mid like every track he has from this year. And he has ghost writers helping him? Who's his ghost writer, Chat GPT?

Progressive house should be called melodic house, and melodic house should be called progressive house.

i was mad when i saw the title of the video.. i was like "Who the fk is this guy to say alan bla bla bla.. " sorry for thinking that but I'm very happy that you disagree with TrashDragon89.. i bet he's just another hater.. Alan walker is just I don't know but true.. he is BIG.. but he is also not.. idk..
