I'm late to this video, not the anime, but I'm glad someone other than me thinks this also. The sound design in this anime is a-frickin-mazing. The flying of the radar jamming bugs, the static of the dead voices cutting off to silence for "shinetaku nai" the screech of blades cutting metal, the thump of the cannons firing and the impact with a metallic ping. The sounds in this anime are some of the best I've ever heard.

In this moment I think Shin is just talking in a nihilistic way, as in he's going to free his brother and then join him in death. He knows that he has lived way past his life expectancy.

I supremely love 86 the anime because 1. It is an extremely fun, high quality, properly created and resourced media project. And 2. I get to see countless "WTAF?!?!?" faces during reaction to the anime.

Shin's parents moved to San Magnolia because they are from different clans (Maika and Nouzen) and their families did not approve of the relationship. Their mother is a Pyrope (red hair and eyes) and their father is an Onyx (black hair and eyes). Rei and Shin have inverse traits from their parents. Even in Giad, race mixing was frowned upon. Although it was more based on mixing with other clans.

Tho even with proper burials, that would pnly amplify the copying of brains. It would be easy for them to dig up, and too dangerous to take back to lets say their camps. That's why Shin's role is so important

Something that has always annoyed me is that Shin says to Lena that the original Legion AI/neural network was based on humans but, the new legion using even damaged copies of human brains have more processing power. This makes no sense. In the book, he says they were based on large mammals originally. It makes more sense that the neural network for the original Legion wouldn't be copied from humans later in the series when you get more back story on their development.

There is an interesting parallel between the handler portraits up in Spearhead's barracks and Annette's fiancé portraits in her office. Also it is clear that Lena picked up something there, something about the portraits gave her an idea... It's hard to say about Lena's father Václav Milizé being a shepherd. In the previous episode, when Lena is at the war cemetery you can actually see that he was the last "human" casualty in the war, Lena stops at a tablet where his name is the last one inscribed. That said, I don't think it has been indicated whether or not his body was recovered and buried. The 86 incinerate their comrades because they are not allowed to bury them (Why is alluded to in a later episode).

Yeah, the Annette stuff you kind of have to work backward on. You'll know at which point you need to start looking back at things she has said and then you can start piecing together what she was really saying.
