Stu always terrifies me more than Billy. We know Billy is psychotic and on the edge but Stu was the comic relief and when he is torturing and killing he enjoys he has fun and makes faces and to me that is so haunting for someone to be doing that and enjoy it as if it was a fun game. Stu also said when put on the spot his reason for doing it was peer pressure. It can be assumed he killed because it was fun and he liked it same as Mickey

clever is...an overstating what it is, aware of itself definitely. The deconstruction aspects of the film are interesting, but then the film follows those methods for the most part, Sidney/neve campbell are the best casted choice for the heroine. but It’s really not that clever even from a deconstruction perspective since the formula is write everyone to be the suspect and acting suspicious therefore no one can figure out whose the real killer(s) until you reveal it which i felt got kind of cheap since it takes the fun out of trying to figure out who’s guilty on your own.

Kenny was really a good person who wanted to discover the killer and stop the bloodshed, unlike Gale who (while she most likely wanted the murderer to be caught to stop killings as well) was much more motivated by the fame and money that would come with it. He was going to run back into a house with a killer to save a kid he didn't know, and then in his final moments he possibly saved Sidney's life by pointing to the exit. I love this movie! And Dewey is one of my all-time favorite characters because he's so unlike most other horror movie heroes. This movie was such a gigantic success and started a new golden era of slasher movies.

I remember seeing this in the theater and the opening had me confused and speechless. "Oh Drew Barrymore is in this" 10 minutes later "...wait, did she just die?"
@Ciclopea23 жыл бұрын
I remember this movie was huge back in the day and a good part of that success had to do with the collective shock watching Drew Barrymore and thinking she was the star of the movie and then (spoiler alert) the opening scene was actually her character getting killed, genius marketing move lol. The Director was very careful about leaking any info about the plot of the movie before the release. This is definitely a 90's classic.

Fun facts: Drew Barrymore was originally offered the main female role , but Drew wanted to be in the opening scene because she thought it would be more iconic ( she was right) . The actor who plays Billy loomis ( Skeet ulrich) , is also known for his role as Jugheads father on “Riverdale”.

Crazy scary fact about my childhood. So scream came out in 96’ when I was 1 going on 2 years old that year. And my moms boyfriend and the dad of both of my sisters was OBSESSED with this movie. Oh and he was crazy, like as fuck. And violent. I witnessed a lot of shit as a kid that I shouldn’t have. But my mom told me recently that one time he confessed to her years later that him and his bestfriend (who is now in jail for over a decade for a violent crime…) planned out a whole “scream” real life reenactment that they were going to pull on my mom and her bestfriend if she ever cheated on him. He said at one point he was so excited about it that he set her up to cheat on him and she didn’t …. Like INSANE!! He was always so mean to me too, and my mom lived with me and my grandma awhile after they broke up. Had they done that I have no doubt that he would have murdered me and my grandmother too. And I was just old enough to start having memories. Cause I was like 6 when he was planning to do that because my youngest sister had been born already. What a psycho. He’s married now and has like 7 kids all from different women. And another crazy fact is that I used to have a nightmare of me and mg mom getting attacked by ghost face. Granted the movie terrified me and was the first horror film I ever saw but I think I was having that dream because it was gonna happen. Thank the lord in heaven my moms not a cheater 😭 that literally saved our lives…
