Taylor’s playing in this performance sums up his legacy for me much more than most Foo footage out there. Truly one of a kind. RIP

The 90s were the best decade in music, I don't care what anyone says, if you look into the rich tapestry of divergence that existed, even within the same genre, there's just no comparison today, I feel standards have lowered, it seems as if an artist like Taylor Swift can release anything and it becomes a hit, used to be

I am saving my pennies to attend and promise, your joy, your love, your life, your words will forever be held dear to my heart. i can imagine this sounds weird as i don't know you but your music touched my soul and i wanted to say thank you. your soul is deep and touched mine. thank you! @@riverlife5803 Wow you're a very lucky girl to have connected with Alanis on such an intimate, spiritual, almost cosmic level. I particularly love her perspective/her philosophy of life whether via lyrics or even via interviews. Her drive, her intensity, her passion, her energy and her fearlessness put her RIGHT OFF THE CHARTS -- literally in a category all by herself. Add in her talent, her intelligence, her honesty, her insight and her "willingness to share all that she IS" with others and she becomes a once-in-a-lifetime artist IMHO. That she hasn't ended up in a long-term psychiatric facility is nothing short of miraculous though her recent material (Reasons I Drink, Smile, Diagnosis) suggests that life has indeed taken its toll on this almost-supernatural human.

Anyone know wich snaredrum Taylor has here exact?
@Musiknird2 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure it's a Slingerland Studio King chrome over brass snare that it tuned high. Taylor was known for loving brass snares, just like my self. Brass has a very nice pitch and crack that is hard to find in other types of snares. But it's also a lot about the tuning and heads. Brass snares are very responsive with really fast attack and in the end if you like brass snare go with the one you like. If you want to get the same sound as Taylor you can get it with a Ludwig, Tama, Pearl or Slingerland brass snare, it's just about how much money you like to spend on it. I use a Pearl Free Floating brass snare that is affordable, it sound amazing and to play it is a dream. I can tune it low, mid or high and it sounds amazing in any tune.
@JJ-vg9du2 жыл бұрын
@@Musiknird Thanks!!!! Yes i had a suspicion it was in the line of Ludwig LM400. But thanks for the specifics, i have a Tama Artstar Brass and a Pearl Cob, it's indeed made to be cranked tight and sounds beautiful! the pearl free floating is amazing!!! One of the more stable horses from Pearl
@Musiknird2 жыл бұрын
@@JJ-vg9du oh Tama Artstar is and sounds amazing! Absolutely stunning snare and sound. Tama do some great stuff and I own a Tama Starclassic Maple. It's a dream to play and sounds fantastic. I even think it sounds better than DW. Have you tried or listen to The Kenny Aronoff brass snare? It's both beautiful and sounds amassing! Same with Tama Star Reserve hand hammered brass snare such treat for the eyes and ears. I also have a Premier Signia Maple which I use my Pearl Free Floating brass snare to. Premier Signia was premiers flagship and mine is made in the late 90's and it's such beautiful British craftsmanship in that kit and it sound incredible! Many still today thinks its the best sounding kit made, even better than Ludwig. I know this is like swearing in the church, but I'm just not a Ludwig girl. I've played them and they are beautiful, but not my cup of tea or sound. Lol!
@JJ-vg9du2 жыл бұрын
@@Musiknird Have a Starclassic maple snare, nothing wrong with that serie. I know of the Kenny A snare, but his best recordings are with a ludwig Lm400 snare! The pearl free floating brass is a beauty!!! Premia signia, keep that one close it's a rare gem and sadly Premier is back with the taiwan label so it won't come back in the old forms.. Well i guess each there own, my favorite drums are Pearl
@Musiknird2 жыл бұрын
@@JJ-vg9du The LM400 snares are really nice and sounds amazing. Supraphonic is a legend of it's own and Ludwig snares are great, it's the old kits I can find a bit overrated. Sure most of the old rock stars played them so they have contributed to today's music, but still would not be my first choice. The Premier kit I have has a 24" bass drum, 13 tom, 16 and 18 floor toms almost like Bonham, accept the 13 tom. But let me tell you it's one phat kit that you truly hear. Pearl have some absolutely stunning kits that sounds amazing and are well made. You usually get bang for the bucks with pearl. I have to confess that I'm thinking of buying a Ludwig backbeats just to have at home and practise on. It's easy to set up and just start playing.
