I am a 54 year old English woman who ABSOLUTELY loves music (but sadly can't play or sing). I particularly have a passion for drums and believe Stewart Copeland and Keith Moon to be the best I have heard (imho). Therefore, as a drum lover I have watched Yoyoka on KZbin for many years and seen her grow from an early age. I have NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER that she WILL make it BIG and be part of something wonderful. Much love, respect and luck to Yoyoka and her family xx

Everytime Yoyoka releases a new cover I can tell just how profoundly her playing has gained depth and breadth. She has always been able to play any genre she wants to but now. Well . . . honestly she is growing into her rightful place as a world class drummer. Iron sharpens iron. Being in a peer group where everyone is playing lots of different music at school is shaping Yoyoka into an even greater player. So nice to see that Yoyoka has eclectic (good) taste in music 😊 she doesn't get stuck in a single genre and is great in all of them. I would love to hear her playing some songs by the great guitarist Carlos Santana, from her first albums, the fusion of rock and Latin rhythms is contagious and joyful, it suits Yoyoka. Michael Shrieve is one of the best drummers I've ever heard, too bad he's underrated 🥁♥️

@Richard-wh9wm Жыл бұрын
Less focused on the music??? Really??? Please explain that one.
@mgtowvalues
@mgtowvalues Жыл бұрын
@@Richard-wh9wm At 0:35,something happened with the hi-hat that did not go quite correctly, and she responded. I cannot tell what did not go according to plan. At 0:47, the hi hat opening pattern briefly was not kept without concern to do a retake. It is a very nice hi hat pattern but the playing took precedence over the small detail of total accuracy of the music of that hi hat pattern. At 1:41, just after that very tasty fill, was what was likely an improvised hi hat overplay, that while good, was likely just her playing and not being locked into the music. Previously such impromptu fills would have been edited out. At 3:21, the sideways stick on the hi hat is just fun - it is a moment unconnected with the music and fully connected to the playing of the music. Ultimately these are very small points that I likely would have passed over had it not been for her writing in the description: "※This was shot with one take and no edit!". This indicates that normally, and we can occasionally see edit breaks in her videos, that some of these would have been "fixed" and some ideas which were missed would have been put in to ensure that the music took precedence. But in this video, as I say, the playing of the music took precedence over the music and it was beautiful to see.
