This generation will never understand the excitement we all had when we discovered this bonus track. It all goes something like this for all of us: we always played the album and then switched to something else or played the album from the beginning again. Then one day we let it play because we got busy doing something else and it scared the heck out of us but we were instantly transported to what felt like her private moment. What a time to be alive. ❤

@@crystalv6122 I misspoke. What I meant was: "I am pretty sure a lot of men have been stalked, or is stalking only wrong when women are the victims?" Now, imagine a man sung this song. Is it okay for him to do? Is it exciting to hear his private thoughts? Let me put this into perspective. To a guy, this would be like an ex braking into your house to smell your panties in your bedroom, while you weren't at home. In your shoes, I'd find that horrifying.

My son who is 23 has a vinyl record player which I was surprised but he put it well when he said it allows you to have a physical connection to music and to explore the album in a way you can't with streaming. It made me remember this album and this hidden track and he is spot on. BTW I looked on my spotifiy for this album and the hidden track isn't there. @@EvanRockwell1 Thanks for the info. Unlike a lot of people, I don't mind being corrected. It is never too late to learn. It got me thinking, so I looked it up on the internet. I found the following: Style guides vary when it comes to a name that ends in an "s." Even if the name ends in "s," it's still correct to add another "'s" to create the possessive form. It's also acceptable to add only an apostrophe to the end of singular nouns that end in "s" to make them possessive. In this case, you can show possession for Ross in either of two ways: Ross' room Ross's sports team Perhaps we were both correct:)

Suddenly I am 15 years old again and experiencing my first broken heart and skipping through the whole album to play this song over and over again. I never understood why this was a bonus track and not a feature of an album. Now that I’m older, I kinda get it. So how many people didn't actually know this song was at the end of the album the first time they heard it? *raises hand* I had listened to the whole album before, but then one time I just left it playing....man, when she started singing this, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up! I always thought the POV sounds almost as if she's not just a stalker ex, but like she's actually passed on as well....like a spirit, revisiting her former lover, who has, of course, moved on since her tragic death....*sniffle*

No... It's not. This is creepy as F*ck. I'm a guy and this is not romantic. If this is what you're saying is beautiful then you wouldn't mind the following: Imagine someone infatuated with you broke into your house, knowing that you'd chosen someone else, went into your bedroom to smell you. They knew they shouldn't be there. Asked the space if they danced in you shower or slept in your bed. They took off their clothes, put on your clothes... Used your cologne/perfume to remind them of you. Please put yourself in the other's shoes. Would you want this done to you?
@m2012o18 ай бұрын
@@Fizwalker oh, that's an interesting (and yes, super creepy) take! I always assumed the idea was that they're in a relationship and she realizes he's cheating on her. Which wouldn't make the circumstances less creepy if they happened, but that makes the whole thing sound like she's imagining it - because surely she wouldn't be running a bath or burning incense. So it becomes a fancyful daydream that turns into anxiety. But in your version there's no reason her actions have to make sense, and a stalker that doesn't mind her break-in being noticed is pretty much horror movie territory. Huh.
@troyschneck49345 ай бұрын

... I remember I was sitting on the floor in the den... was about to get up to replay the album... and heard this incredible Erie beautiful song!! I kept thinking *imagine I got up and didn't hear it at the amazing moment* I believe everything happens for a reason- I tweaked the stereo system- my Dad came running in we sat together and kept listening to it. It became his favorite song! R.I.P My Man this ones for You 🖤

For 25 1/2 years this song has been in my head and I couldn't figure what it is until I just typed in Alanis Morissette and found out it was "Your House", my conscious is now cleared since 1996!

My first really committed relationship where the emotional roller coaster was too real. Such an intense period of time of my late teens and early 20’s. It’s been over twenty years now since I’ve seen that girl and I hope beyond hope that one day I’ll see her again. To explain that we were so young and that we needn’t hold anything against one another. This album was played over and over thousands of times and really helped me. As I listen to it now , I can close my eyes and be in the room with her as though it were just yesterday. I hope she knows how much I loved her and that I always will. Sometimes in life we learn that love ….. sadly, isn’t enough.

This song brings back so many memories ❤️ I was about 20 years old and I was head over heels with this Marine I met. I never told him how I felt. I played the best friend card. I think he had an inkling of how I felt. He moved away and I went on with my own life.

But you probably didn't break into his house & do weird stuff with his clothes, shower, cologne, & bed. That song is just effed up.

The other version with instruments is ok, but I prefer this because this is the obviously the one I heard first. Love to sing this song a lot.

My fav Alanis Morissette song…I’d sing it while left alone when I lived in VillePlatte in 1997 and my sweet neighbors that were in a band overheard me singing and wanted me to sing with them but, I was too chicken…🐣
