Let me tell you something Jeff , I have been practicing vocal improvement courses with a teacher face to face , online , reading books , watching ALL BIG GUY'S VIDEOS here on you tube and on their web sites by subscribing and paying for them , buying their CD's , etc. etc. , my voice never got better ( I am not saying those guys i have been working with are useless no, no way ) until the day I found your videos here on you tube and exercised ONLY the pipet , larynx dropping by yawning , tongue relaxing , and pen underneath the tongue exercises , NO B.S here : In three days of exercising with your methods my singing got a lot better and I get very good feedbacks on Smule ! You know what you are doing man. Thank you. I will be buying your courses , now I can say that I have a vocal coach whom his techniques works best for me.

Just great Jeff, you're the best, the negative people's you are talking about they can't see as far as there noses, they can't understand that you're helping them to be better, Your exercises are very useful and appreciate your help.

Ara fortunately I don't receive a lot of really negative comments on my videos. But I see it elsewhere, and from other coaches on their channels. I will never go there. Life is too short. My goal is to teach great concepts and exercises that will make you (all singers) the best singer they can be, and lift them up, not tear them down. Thanks so much for your kind comment! And thanks for watching! Peace, Jeff

Another great video, Jeff! I love the fact that you talk about a 'floating larynx' here - like you I went down the wrong path at one point, overfocused on a 'low larynx' and began depressing it to the detriment of my high notes - and that you take us through all the intervals you're likely to need in piece of music. Grazie, Maestro! Can't wait for the next part. :)

Hola. From Puerto Rico. Taking care of my mom especially the last two years of her life, I just totally stopped singing. At the hospital at 2 a.m. January 1, 2019 , my stomach acids went all the way to my throat. Burning sensation. I’m now controlling with medication. Hoarse voice to the maximum. Vocal cords not closing. They were all over the place. Feeling a lump in my throat. Went to ENT. He recommended vocal exercises. Thru KZbin I have hummed, mi me ma mo mu’d, warmed up, warmed down and my low soft chest voice has gotten better. So there is hope. Looking now to strengthen my voice. Just want to know, is there a tea, pill, powder to help repair my vocals? Love your classes. Doing the V exercises. Gracias!!

Hello Maria. First off, I am happy that you are enjoying the tutorials. As far as a tea to heal the voice? I don’t really think there is one, however I am a big fan of the Yogi company’s Throat Comfort tea. It’s great and has some anti inflammatory ingredients which soothe the throat. Generally speaking, diet is everything when it comes to healing the body and therefore the throat and voice. Maybe the best course of action would be to see a nutritionist who can make a meal plan for you to reduce inflammation in your body as that what it sounds like is happening here. God bless and keep singing!

Hey Jeff! I absolutely love your videos, I'm amazed by the knowledge here. I do have a question though! Why are there still people that are against this technique, I mean, what do you think that are the actual reasons for having such a negative experience or opinion regarding this way of teaching? Because I read some of the comments that were not positive. And I, personally, tried some of your exercises, they helped me enormously in my singing, everything now is much smoother and easier than before... So thank you for that and keep up the great work!!! 🌹

And yes, I'm definitely planning to continue to sing this way and dig up everything I can about it! Really, really .. THANK YOU!

Hello Petra. As with religion or politics, not everyone will see things our way. I'm a bit of a camera nerd, and recently this new camera from Canon came out this called the Canon EOS R. It was the first mirrorless, full frame sensor camera from Canon, and even before people had a chance to try it out, camera vloggers and bloggers were saying it was "the worst camera ever created". I purchased the camera because one of my buddies at a camera store near me said "Jeff, this is the perfect camera for your needs". I bought it and absolutely love it. Once I figured it out, I discovered that it did indeed fulfill all of my video/photography needs. This video was shot on the new camera by the way! Vocal Technique is a bit like this. People hear one person say something negative about a vocal technique and then it snowballs into "this is the worst technique ever". I've heard terrible things about all of the other vocal techniques as well, but for the people who use those approaches, they work beautifully. Often times vocal techniques are being taught by misinformed teachers, teachers that have not mastered the methods themselves. They wind up teaching a watered down version, or a misaligned version of that technique and then wind up messing their student's voices up. You said you have been using the concepts I am teaching with success yes? Then this is obviously the right approach for you. Like religion and politics, we are all seeking the truth and my truth may not be your truth and that's ok! The Swedish-Italian vocal technique is based on time proven concepts from the Italian masters. Those guys and gals got it right centuries ago! Hope that answers your question! Peace and happy singing. Jeff Alani Stanfill

@@JeffAlaniStanfill Dear Jeff... You really are a god's gift full of positive energy among all these internet haters here. Thank you so, sooo much. I answered so many questions to my self just by watching your videos and reading posts by sir Jones... And maybe one other guy that's also using the same method... It literally felt like somebody took an eye cover off my eyes that was making me blind for like a years... There is still things to practice and there will always be since we are always changing over time, just like our bodies... So yes, once again, you are absolutely right with your comment here and thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for sharing these things so unselfishly... 🌹🌹🌹

Can i just add that it seems many who are against these concepts really have not studied them with a teacher so they likely do not really get them enough to feel the benefits.

I’ve watched many of your videos and love it. I have a throat strain while speaking. Can i use these technique to improve speaking too. Or do you have any tip.
@JeffAlaniStanfill5 жыл бұрын
Fatih Akhan yes you can absolutely use this technique for speaking! Speaking and singing do not need to feel so dissimilar. I often have my students speak their songs so that they can feel what “at speech” feels like. And for the speakers I’ve trained, I will have them sing their speeches or presentations. Hope that helps you! Peace and happy singing/speaking!

I did the exercise with the Italian vowels I was ok with the humming but my larynx came up a little with Italian vowels then I did the same using the a,e,i,o,u. vowels. My larynx didnt move ,tried both sets of vowels a few times with the same out come is this because I am speaking and singing in English.
@JeffAlaniStanfill3 жыл бұрын
Mike it's imortant not to lock the larynx down. If it moves a little it's a good thing. A free, floating larynx is a sign of good vocal health. What you don''t want is for it to pop as you sing. Certain vowels like ee and eh are a little higher laryngeal vowels than oo and oh. Hope this answers your questions.

Is it normal that my vocal cords / larynx feel tired after practice? Like when I massage my larynx throat area, I feel a little itchy.
@ghenevoejovi89644 жыл бұрын
I tried to ascend using the hide d yawn position towards D4 but my larynx wants to go up by all means.. Is that normal?..
@JeffAlaniStanfill4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ghenvo. Your larynx may not want to stay down the high up. Allow it to do what it needs to and never force it to stay down. Your in the male passaggio by D4 so likely the larynx is rising to tilt forward to allow the cords to stretch for the higher pitches.
@HappyInTheCity3 жыл бұрын
When I do this, I feel like my cords thicken up instead of dropping for a richer voice. What's wrong with me?
@bekind12405 жыл бұрын
so, after doing these exercises, are we supposed to sing throughout the song like we are hiding a yawn to keep the larynx down? That seems to have created some tension to me. Thanks,
@JeffAlaniStanfill5 жыл бұрын
I ask my students to imagine the larynx is relaxed and slightly down, never pushed down during a song. If it needs to come up, it can but should never pop up. Hope that helps you!
