Hi Alan, glad you put this up. This bike has a special place in my heart. Many years ago I had the good fortune to know Greg Alderman who was testing this bike for BMX Action Bike magazine. Greg was a really cool guy and lived local to me. We had a small skatepark that Greg bought the bike to with the photographer. He let me test the bike out pre photo shoot and I couldn't believe my luck. I was not a gifted rider, and I could only dream of having a bike like this, so I made the most of the experience. My own bike was a Team Murray 342, so you can imagine what riding a bike like this was for me. I never got to tell this story before so thanks for taking the time to talk about the bike in such detail, history indeed.

I don’t know why but this is my all time favourite bmx, and I was lucky enough to own an eBay bought Torker 280 X in white in 2007 which I built up with black alloy hub skyways and other bits. Unfortunately I’m a freestyler so wanted freestyle bars on it, but I just couldn’t make it look right. Don’t have it now unfortunately, but I can say I have had one and still have some pics with black EZ 2 bars on it. Great video, I would love to see a modern rebuild of the 280 X with the same oval cut out gusset.
