Programming the VISTA-21iP To Use IP Only

In this video, Jorge from Alarm Grid discusses how you can program a Honeywell VISTA-21iP Panel to use IP communication only. This is as opposed to dual-path communication, in which the system would have both cellular and IP communication paths available. An IP monitoring plan is needed to activate.
The Honeywell VISTA-21iP has a built-in P communicator for this exact purpose. The communicator allows the system to maintain connectivity with the Resideo AlarmNet360 Servers. This is necessary for alarm monitoring service and for using the system with Total Connect 2.0. Just remember that you will need an alarm monitoring plan to activate the communicator. If you choose to receive monitoring service from Alarm Grid, then you can choose from any of our monitoring plans. All of our monitoring plans include IP connectivity.
In order to program the IP communicator, you will need to enter programming. This requires entering the Installer Code for the system. Remember that the default system Installer Code is 4112. It is strongly recommended that you use an Alphanumeric Keypad when programming the system. Trying to use a Fixed English Keypad will result in you operating blindly, and it is very likely that you might make a programming mistake. Please note that the built-in IP communicator for the 21iP allows for connectivity using a hardwired ethernet connection. There is no way to add WIFI functionality to a VISTA-21iP.
It is recommended that you add a cellular communicator to the system if possible. This is because using IP-only communication will result in a loss of connectivity with the AlarmNet Servers whenever the internet goes down. Having cellular backup will allow the system to maintain connectivity in these situations. Some of the best dual-path communicators to use with the VISTA-21iP include the Honeywell LTE-IA and the Honeywell LTE-IV. Remember, you will need a monitoring plan that includes cellular service to use cellular communication with the system. This could be a Gold or Platinum Level Plan from Alarm Grid.

Can I program Vista20iP using Compass 2.0 and direct TCP/IP connection to network connector mounted on side of Vista20iP panel? I was reading a lot about iton the web, but not to much information about how to do. One of Honeywell bulletins it say to install "Compass Connect Control Server" and "Compass Connect Data Server". I downloaded and installed both servers from my (mywebtech) account on to my laptop and configured IP addresses accordingly. I also matched same IP address in Compass 2 settings for communication via TCP/IP. When I checked box "Enable TCP/IP" and select ECP under "Connection Mode", I get only one option "AlarmNet-ip" but "Private-LAN' is gray out. Under this configuration I'm not able to get connection with panel. I'm getting message: "Connection failed to control server due to either Wrong Server IP Address or Server is not running" My both Control Server and Data Server are running, IP address on both servers, my laptop and Compass 2 are the same. When I select under Connection Mode "Direct Wire", I'm getting message "This Panel currently doesn't have Direct Wire TCP Connection Mode capability" My Vista-20iP firmware is 4-26 Please advise.

the communicator must be programmed to an A360 account. the private lan is for 7847IE that have the 7810PC receiver set up. There is an option to use a hayse modem to direct connect over the phone connections

Can I monitor it with my cell phone through the internet? I have my 20p programmed to dial my cell phone.

There is a total connect 2.0 service that is a paid service. would require an account number with an alarm company.

Can I use the IP alarm monitoring service in other country ? Or how the 21iP connect to local CMS ?

we have self-accounts around the world we cant monitor them with our monitoring station. you can use the TC2 account. to get the TC2 app sometimes the region would need to set to the United States to get the tc2 app

I get all the way to the end but it says "done" after hitting review "N" #, it doesn't update the root file

This has to be connected with a dealer to have access to the servers. If you are going through a dealer you may want to have them check it out for you.

do i need the 6160rf to program this unit or will a 6160 working fine ?

Either keypad would be a good option to program the VISTA-21IP. If you're wanting to add wireless sensors to the system, and do not already have an existing RF receiver, then that is when you'd go with the 6160RF keypad.

Too much extra information. You could talk about the problems with the smaller panel at the end of your video. It makes your video(s) hard to follow.

I press 1 for program and my keypad goes blank

This indicates there's a problem with the panel not being able to pass data traffic with the communicator. If you're attempting to use the internal Vista-21iP IP/Cell communicator, then make sure the jumper is set to ON for the internal communicator. If you need to move the Jumper, NEVER DO IT WITH THE SYSTEM POWERED ON. If you're trying to use an external communicator, then be sure the jumper is set to OFF. If the jumper is set to ON, and you're trying to use the Internal Communicator, then there is an issue, and it could be a bad panel/communicator combo. so i guess there is no way i can install something on my server in cloud and monitor it from there ...or have that to send an alarm to my cell phone ..otherwise a nice video
