Tell me why I did a certification class in this, but the KZbin video taught me more than the class itself

Dude. Thank you so much. A client with so much money requested I get an alarm system for him.. truth be told I'm a networking guy.. CCTV.. access control.. servers.. switches..routers... He purchased this exact brand and detectors!! You just made me so much money haha! Thank you very much, dude. I was nervous about it but I have a very good damn understanding of this setup now. You are a legend! Hope you are doing well, cheers.

Jason obviously has a lot of experience in the field installing systems. He did a great job explaining and demonstrating the connections. Unfortunately the camera was upside down in half of the video. Hopefully his cold has gone away also - haha. Thank you Jason!

Thanks for watching. I'm afraid the upside down camera was our video editor's doing lol.

Andy Bowman Awwww. It seems every time I finally find someone that is extremely knowledgeable about a subject I need help with, they have moved on. Well, I can only hope he is happy with the new opportunity! Thank you very much for your reply Andy!

What did you do with the smoke detectors where do those tie into a burglar system not on fire system? I mean I know it will send an alarm signal if you put it to a zone....but the tamper switch would send a trouble and not an alarm signal, does it have to be programed differently? not a lot of burglar under my belt....tnx

I have replaced several panels with 2GIG takeover modules and every panel I've worked in they have the EOL resistor at the panel. I have wondered about this for quite a while and this video confirms that the other company doesn't know what they are doing. I'm assuming they only put the resistor in at all because they don't know how to program the panel without using the resistor and hence the zone doesn't work properly without the resistor. Obviously the resistor isn't doing anything for them.

In the Red/Black/Yellow/Green group, i have 2 keypads and 4 extension modules. ITs difficult to try and get 4 wires all connected in one color. Can i crimp them all together and just have 1 wire going into these slots? does that make any difference?

Hello, I have a DSC pk5500 and it has a low battery alarm. My question is: the only battery he has is the black one UP7-12S, 12V-7Ah? I can't get it off the wall, so I don't think it takes other kind of batteries. Thanks a lot for the help.
@fxallo13 жыл бұрын
you can also put 12v4a battery, you need to calculate the power consumption. If you have many motion, smoke detector or 4 wire device, you need to put 12v7a, if you have only 1 keypad, one panel and wireless device a 12v4A can do the job. The only difference is how much time system gonna work during power outage.

Which model would you recommend to replace a pc1616 ua503 v4.6? Mine got hit by lightning.
@AlarmSystemStore Жыл бұрын
The Neo 2016 is the modern = to your 1616. See here: www.alarmsystemstore.com/products/dsc-powerseries-neo-hs2016nkcp01-board-cabinet Be advised though, your 1616 keypads, modules and wireless will not work on the newer platform.
@noelr7988 Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I appreciate it. Do I need to change keypads and sensors as well? The old ones still give continuity back to the board. It's just that power is not making it past the initial contact.

Also, is it possible to link a wireless motion sensor to the 2016 model?
@AlarmSystemStore Жыл бұрын
@@noelr7988 If you have a Host 9 wireless transceiver and compatible motion detector, yes. This is all the wireless products for Neo panels: www.alarmsystemstore.com/collections/dsc-power-series-neo-wireless-sensors

Do you wire a wireless transceiver module into the corbus?
@AlarmSystemStore Жыл бұрын
Yes you do

@@AlarmSystemStore Awesome thanks. I also keep getting tamper switch indicators on the keypad. I went around to make sure they are all depressed and ok. I can’t get to clear. Is there some kind of bypass or cheat to tell the system to ignore the switches. Thanks

@@gloproglowingcups4795 I am not in tech support, but I am fairly certain you can turn of keypad tampers in keypad programming.

Does dsc still make hardwired systems or is everything wireless now?
@AlarmSystemStore2 жыл бұрын
DSC's biggest lines are hardwired hybrids actually. They make less total wireless systems than they did say 5 years ago. See here for the latest hardwired / hybrid line. www.alarmsystemstore.com/collections/dsc-powerseries-neo

If you have 6 expander boards, does all 6 parallel on the main board??
@AlarmSystemStore3 жыл бұрын
Yes all are connected to the same keybus. Doesn't have to go directly back to the panel though, could be tapped at a keypad for example if need be.

hello, sorry for my english , I have a question ,in a situation when you have more than 1 motion sensor how you connect a tamper switch, paradox alarm system have nc with eol with tamper & wire fault recognition, where they do that with 2 1K ohm resistors conected in series, I would like to do similar thing with dsc
@fxallo13 жыл бұрын
you can connect with 2x 5.6k like paradox and you go in section 013 option 2 for doube eol

@eMinatti4 жыл бұрын
Pick 1 black and 1 red from the siren. Splice it to the black and red wire that's going to your panel. No need for a resister.

So the resistors that come with the kit are not necessary?
@andybowman96972 жыл бұрын
That's a matter of opinion. I recommend using them, but yes you can tell the system not to look for them if you don't want to, other than on smokes.

How to wire 3 Panic buttons in series with deol?
@fxallo13 жыл бұрын
DEOL is more effective with one device per zone but its possible with multiple device,put one resistor in paralel with each nc/c contact and put resistor in the last device in serie between the contact and the wire
