In today's video, Hayden gives an overview of the Qolsys IQ Panels. In the video, the system you will see is the IQ panel 2+, but this overview will cover the IQ Panel 4 as well since they both use the same user interface. The Qolsys IQ system is a self-contained wireless alarm system, so everything required to operate the system is built into the unit. This includes dual wireless cards, depending on the model you choose, and it has a built-in Alarm.com dual-path (cellular and IP) communicator and Z-wave card. The system runs on the Andriod operating system giving it a very familiar feel given everyone uses cellphones nowadays. It provides a high-quality, yet very simple installation process and setup allowing anyone to use the IQ panel as a DIY application.
As mentioned the Qolsys IQ 2+ and IQ 4 use Alarm.com communicators giving you access to one of the top service providers in the modern era. Using Alarm.com you can self-monitor your system using an interactive app, as well as have a Central Station monitor your system for alarms. The Qolsys IQ Panel itself though, can be used as a straight local alarm system if desired requiring no service at all. The IQ panels use DSC's newest wireless technology called PowerG, as well as different secondary wireless cards for legacy wireless technology. This covers almost all legacy wireless tech if you get the right secondary card, which can make upgrading your system a breeze without having to replace all of your devices. The IQ panels installation wizard that starts up when you power up the system gives a very easy interface for getting the system's initial setup complete. From there, many settings can be adjusted as needed from the panels settings menus. Follow along with this video to see a full break down of the installation wizard and see if the IQ Panel could be a good option for you.
