Chana dal-1 tbs
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Green chilli-3
Dry red chilli-5
Onion(diced)-1
Garlic(crushed)-5
Curry leaves-2 tbs
Coconut(grated)-1/2 cup
Coriander leaves-1/2 cup
Salt for taste
Cooking oil

very well explained all steps, any specific reason you have used white alsande kalu? i plan to use brown alsande kalu. whenever i tried in cooker, it always gets over cooked and i only have to do sambar out of it, will try to boil separately like you showed, hope it wont take longer than 10-15 mins,
