Great fishing trip of a lifetime with family , look forward to another great trip coming in next few months. Back to elfin cove. Truly an amazing place. More memories to come. Can't wait to claim my Yellow Tour DE FISH Shirt back as biggest fish of the day caught.

That has to be an older fish any idea how old? Does the meat change from an old fish to a younger 2-3 YO fish?

so the claim is its 197 kilogram. strange, cus it dont look like its nearly 2,5 metres as a 209 kilogram halibut is.

If you have any knowledge of fishing you should know size dosent matter a big fat stumpy healthy fish will out weigh a skinny malnourished fish

Really nice big halibut and catch of a lifetime. But I would have liked to see a female go back to keep breeding. I know the thrill of catching such a giant though and congrats guys. I know they are big, strong fish and pulling a live fish that size into the boat would be foolish in case anyone doesn't get why they shot it. They are extremely dangerous and have killed people with their thrashing around. Again congrats but I hope you will throw females back so there will always be halibut to catch. That one will feed ya for awhile ! 😄

@@altitudeillume6729 Alberta, actually. And how would know how heavy my cow elk are?
@altitudeillume67295 жыл бұрын
i've caught tuna bigger than that, and, shot cow elk much bigger than that, soooo, i snarked you a little. my apologies, adios ps, i do have a degree in fisheries and wildlife bio, and published in many professional journals, even in the RM ELK FOUNDATION, you'll find the cow weight average's to area study specifics, for all cervis elaphus canadensis subspecies, yes, the manitoba is included, but, your's may be RM, .... i digress. my point is, i apologize

No worries, buddy. I live alone so usually select the smallest cow in the heard to feed me for a year.

Not bad. But in Oregon we would throw the little ones like that back for a big one.
