I appreciate the effort that went into making this excellent video. The climbing was way cool also, I love the Alaska Range. As a 70 year old broken down climber I use your video (soundless) as part of my pain management meditation scheme. I just wish it were longer. Thanks Nate.

awesome video. I appreciate that the music complements the video, and doesn’t take over. Also, the narrating was spot on-not too much not too little. So sick of poor quality videos with way too much music, so yours is very refreshing

Nice work fellas! The cassin ridge is my long term goal. I was wondering what yall did in the lower 48 to prepare for a huge route like that? And how do you manage a month out like that?

@@LucasAndrews-f5r thanks! in 2016/2017 i was living in Vermont and had already done an alaska range trip the previous year. The climbing on the cassin is never above M4 but its super long so cardio and efficiency is paramount. To do it in this style with a narrow weather window and a single bivy you should aim to be solid on mixed terrain up to at least M6 and be comfortable soloing WI3 and fast and efficient on vertical ice. I prepared by doing solo circuits up in smuggs before work, so knocking out 2 or 3 easy multi-pitch ice routes. Also did some harder cragging. In the spring new england isnt climbanle so i focused on running and climbing laps at the gym with a weight vest. Learning glacier travel and crevasse rescue as a team of 2 is good too. Id recommend doing liberty ridge on rainier or some smaller AK routes like ham and eggs, East ridge of 11300 as a warm up
