ALASKA BEAR HUNT 2024 | First Black Bear - part 1

For this hunt we returned to an area where we saw a bear last year. Unfortunately to get to it would have been very difficult due to mountain goat country with lots of steep cliffs. We decided to explore a new route to access a ridge line that would give us a better vantage point. The idea of having to hike in and put a little extra effort was important to us. Let’s just say the views were amazing for the effort we put in for an overnight trip.

Thank you for taking us on this beautiful journey through some of the most spectacular and majestic landscape in North America. I have to give a special mention for the beautiful black lab carrying such an unevenly distributed load on his back with the stoicism of a true soldier !! You are lucky that puppy isn't a lama...Try to have a difference of 1 little pound on one side and a lama will spit on you as a friendly reminder that the load is uneven...True fact. Now please apologize to your lab and give this trooper a nice steak.

We did not try. We both forgot our deer bleats. Should have let the dog whine the whole time on the boat.

@@AKingSlayer looks like stretch north of Juneau. Have you considered using wetsuits and approaching in the water?

@@pamtnman1515 if a company needs durability testing on firearms and scopes, I’d risk the shot after swimming them through glacier silt and salt water.

@@AKingSlayer ​​⁠i would too! 😃 I have watched Steve Rinella and his buddy do it, wading at chest depth, without submersing the gun. The key being to fool the bear into believing you are a seal or some other aquatic critter posing no threat
