can't really remember my buget.. but I did go over it! I camped out mostly and barely ate at any resturants. I had an un expected bill before I left on the trip that made me tighten my belt a bit! right now planning a moto trip thru the himalayans.. good luck!

U should a gone to dead horse great job with the video we did about 12000 Km but trailed the bike to canmore alberta from montreal 4 dayz each way so the biking was a similar amount. we'll just go around quebec and such this summer.

I envy you man. What kind of budget did you set for the ride, and did you stick with it? I was originally planning a trip to south america or Alaska most likely Ill take a trip to Alaska because of time and weather constraints. I will be mainly camping or staying in hostels/cheap motels (when too cold to camp).

Hello Drakomal55, I just got back from the Himalaya's a few weeks ago. Most of my planning came from reading blogs from other motorcyclists on advrider.com.. helpful books are Enjoying India, Lonely Planet, and Bicycling thru the Himalayas... Video coming soon!

Alaska is crawling with bears--black, brown and polar. There is no way that I'd ride a bike there or sleep in a tent for that matter.
