Did a quite similar ride in 2003 from Charlotte. One of the best rides of my life! 9950 miles in 21 days.

Very nice video production of a once in a lifetime adventure. Thanks for sharing and for feeding the dream to "never give up, never surrender". I am 62, about to retire and with a lot of dreams of doing what you just showed can be done in your video. You inspired me to keep my dream alive and to know that yes I can do it! Thanks! I will visit your webpage. Thank you again!

I have ADD so it’s not easy for me to sit through a longish slide show like this, but... I watched and enjoyed every minute of it. I’m envious of your trip and the support you had. You gave a bunch of us hope (except the guy who was yawning).

Great video. Made the trip in '06, 3 months long, 13000 miles on a Moto Guzzi. Absolutely best time of my life. Saw many of the same places you did. Brought back many memories. I know you had some times of adverse weather (as we did), but still it was fantastic. Thanks for sharing your trip.

Thank for posting! Great information on stops, route, etc. Would like to know more about how you prepped bike for trip. Looking at various makes/models now for similar trip. Always good to know what worked, what you'd do different, what considerations you made, etc.

Great video!...3 mates and I are doing the Dempster next year so I hope we get similar weather to what you had in the Yukon. Nice of you to annex Banff into British Columbia...didn't realize that Alberta let it go! :-) Awesome music too...very well put together vid...thanks!

I am deeply inspired by this slideshow. I am seriously tempted to tear myself free from my daily routines for at least two weeks for a ride through at least some parts of the state of Alaska. I want air. A couple of questions regarding the trip: - Any special exclusive travel insurance involved? - Any already most probable spares for a bike (tyres etc)? - Did you carry a gun (if so what kind of) for wildlife control? - Any other thing you saw useful but I can't think of? Thanks a bunch :)

36 here, and I plan on doing a road trip on my klr, but WOW Alaska might be a bit much for me. But wow, what a great documentary of your journey. Im thinking like, Mt Rushmore, and Im done. I Have a friend out there and he might need to ship my bike home due to highway behind. My 2 cheeks couldnt take all that. LOL. Great Vid. and thank you for sharing.

Awesome video man. Im a fellow North Carolinian and hope to do a trip like this my self soon. Ill be keeping the trips a big smaller my self. I've only need riding for 4 years but I do have roughly 30k in the saddle. Just wanted to say congratz on the ride and best of luck to you on your next journey. Keep the rubber side down and ride safe.

I live here in NC as well. Nice vid! I have one question about the trip. With the KLR being carbureted, did you have to adjust the Jetting during the trip? Those are some serious elevation changes. Thanks!

Hi planning to make a similar trip from Nashville this summer. Could you tell me what you did to your KLR fairing area, and why you abandoned KTM Adventure-style fender? Thanks for excellent video!

Thanks buddy for your tips, I believe I'm up to a (at least) 2 week ride after this week is over. I have a KLR 650 rigged up, not mine but very much alike I have (in another country, uh). I will take my time and check out my surroundings, so... I guess there's nothing more to say on that. I want my road below me. And The aforementioned Air, dear God. I will have a snubnose 3" 454 Casull and 25 fairly effective rounds with me, but that's just me. And yea, I assure I can use it properly, too.
@Alleycat___12 жыл бұрын
Nice vid! i hope very soon to get my own klr 650! im from Chile, and the south of my country looks very the same way like Canada, except there's no wolves in the forest.- Im expecting to travel across all my country cuz here are all challenges a motorcycle rider must have, and i think a klr is the rigth choice to accomplish that. Good Luck in your trips and hope more vid from you

Alberta is a wonderful province. You have some of the bluest water up there I have ever seen. I had to get off my ride and get some pictures. That color blue was remarkable. Turner Valley is a lovely little town in Alberta with a nice camp ground run by the town too. It was such a nice place I'd like to go back and visit again despite the distance from North Carolina. the provincial parks there, were pretty spectacular too.

enjoyed watching that thanks i ride a DL650 (suzuki) but would like a bike like yours (as well as the suzuki not instead of) as that adventure looks like the kind of experience i would love living in japan though.... simply too small a country but from island to island the landscape does vary i am more of a wimpy "paved road adventurer"... the kind who rides only where there are "real" roads as it were..... but if i had a bike like yours... thanks
