You should take the Alaska state ferry on your way back, ticket is a bit pricey but still cheaper than buying Canadian gas and you don’t have to deal with Canadian customs or your car breaking down. It goes from Ketchikan, AK to Bellingham, WA takes about 36 hours.

Hey nate! I had an 03 GTP for 20 years; the whining sound was your power steering pump. It was a little too frozen over, and on really cold days, sometimes it’ll do that for a couple mins when you first start the car. Don’t worry about it. It won’t cause harm, as long as you wait for the whine to stop before you drive/turn the wheel. That could risk damaging the pump.

The signal thing with the truck is a nice gesture and I've seen it a few times, but people should know not to trust ANYONE but themselves when they are driving. At best you can use it as a signal to move over to the left a bit to make sure it's clear with your own eyes before going completely into the oncoming lane.

Yes the trucker is signalling to pass, it's not a legal operation, it's a rule of the road and you should still use your own judgement, also when it's safe to change lanes in front of you ( letting the trucker invade your lane ) you can signal this by turning off your headlights, and back on, in the daytime you turn them on, then off. This tells the Trucker to move into your lane in front of you so they can pass other trucks.

It is not the alternator belt, a loose belt would not cause whining. Believe me, I’m a motor head guy and I drove a GTP for 20 years before getting a new car. It’s the first brand new car I ever bought. Also: the engine requires premium even when the supercharger isn’t engaged. Use of unleaded could cause the fuel to burn early/late, and that could result in the misfires! Give the car a couple weeks to adjust to premium again, and if that were the issue, it will resolve itself.
@vapes4854
@vapes4854 3 ай бұрын
A loose belt would usually cause a squeak regarding the alternator, serpentine, or the AC compressor belt/supercharger pulley
@tayloralvidrez4342
@tayloralvidrez4342 3 ай бұрын
The engine will detonate, EARLY, and "ping", very noticably if the octane is too low. And part throttle full throttle react to low octane night and day differently. And old, loose belts DO cause belt screach. Why do people, who don't know what they are talking about, love to give advice? Why are you giving advice? Stop that shit "motor head guy" lol. "A couple weeks to adjust to premium..." What the fuck does that even mean?
@vapes4854
@vapes4854 3 ай бұрын
LOL. Some people are happy, some people are pricks. A loose belt wouldn’t whine like that. It was the power steering pump. It would squeak or squeal if it were a belt. And I used 87 in my GTP on multiple occasions, gave me lots of problems. it took a while for it to start running properly again. Multiple tanks of premium. Cheapin out with gas will only harm a premium gasoline graded engine. I had misfires myself because of it.

You will have to brake for a moose, soon. In june the sun will set 9-10 but just barely below the horizon, so it will still be light out Oh you are right about cold engines. I would start the car up at least once during the night. Probably take 2-4 hours for the 200° oil to begin freezing. Definitely 2 hours, probably 4, maybe 6.

The trip is not impossible with an EV, it's been done... and EV's produce heat more efficiently. Also, gasoline vehicles lose 15-25% of their range in the cold, for many of the same reasons, most people don't notice because it is usually trivial to refuel. My old Honda Civic would get 36-38mpg in the summer and 32-34mpg in the winter. You're wrong about this.
