Hey. I’m new to Washington and I live in Tacoma. I’m have a boat and am trying to get into salmon this season. Let me know if I can go out with you guys sometime to learn all the setups.

Hey Jon, you using 4# test line and size 12 hooks?

Puget Sound has them 50-60lbs but you can’t keep them. They have a slot limit or no retention period and they get huge out there

Those yelloweye rock fish live to 150 years old. Those fish you kept were around 60-70 years old.

They must be a tough fish if you gaff it in the head and then let it go. I love that

It's dead 100% and what they did is highly illegal up here

That first big ling that they gaffed wasn’t the same fish they released in the next clip. They one they released was quite a bit smaller and had different markings on it.

I have land between Ketchikan and Wrangell, I have a boat, just need to finish building my cabin (on vacations) so I can submit my retirement pack to the Department of Defense….. I caught a monster halibut last time I was up there; would love to get a ling next time.
