Alaska is the you tube destination of the year. Dmfd, Outdoor Chef Life, you guys and who knows how many more. Which is awesome because we had almost zero visitors last year. I just find it interesting that I binge watch your videos about fishing in Florida because it’s so exotic for me. And then you come and vacation in my back yard. Fishing unites the world!

I’ve caught Ling cod and flounder deep sea fishing of NJ and I have got to admit. The cod I like best. Alaska is now on my bucket list

Watching all your videos all the way from China. Love it! And I really respect how you treat the ocean and the fish, both how you keep it, kill it or release it. Really cool man! Hope I can join you guys one day.

I enjoyed your take on the jigs. I spend 60 days a year on the Kenai Peninsula and fish Seward and the Cook Inlet frequently. This season, I brought slow pitch jigs (mostly Johnnie Jigs and Jygs), rods and reels to the party. We pounded all species on that gear, but mostly halibut, lingcod and rockfish. I much preferred jigging those fish to the more typical herring used in Alaska; just way more fun than waiting on something to takedown my herring. Glad you are enjoying your trip; you’re right about the fishing- it’s terrific. Nice video 👍

Being from Maine I was a little skeptical when you added the cream style corn but you pulled it off in the end with the half and half. I’d try it. I’m a chowdah head.

By far the best CC&C chef there is. Can def tell cooking is close to , if not as much of a passion as fishin is for him. Everything always looks amazing and you make so many varieties of killer meals.

Another awesome job Viktor! You are becoming the quintessential gourmet chef. You already are a great fisherman but the combo of the fine cuisine with your fishing skills makes your videos quite interesting.

Really need to get up there. My mother is dead set on me taking her black bear hunting, n my uncle is the cpt of his own salmon boat out of Homer n said he would take us; fishing, staying on the boat, while spotting bears. This series is making me want to get off my tail n start seriously planning

The scenary, diversity of species, how good the species taste/cook and weather in Alaska has to be in the top 3 places to fish by far! Definitely has Florida and most other places in the United States/Lower 48 beat by a long shot! Def a trip of a lifetime

Try the fish chowder with the Ling Cod, and the Black tip or any shark will make a good chowder the firmness of the shark lends itself to this style of cooking.

Using the bacon fat is exactly how I make my chowders. I only use green onion, then i add salt, pepper and thyme butter and flour for my rue. I only use lobster broth that I make myself with white wine & skim milk as I want to taste the seafood, not cream. Add diced potatoes to tender. Once tender I add the seafood, usually salmon, halibut, scallops and lobster, but anything works. Always corn, dill and white vinegar. Vinegar brings out the taste of the seafood.
