My wife and I head into the Alaska backcountry to try for our year's supply of meat. We will be hunting the Alaskan moose. Will we be successful? I hope you come along with us and let's find out how the hunt turns out.
The woodstove, stove hot water tank and Fast Fold oven was provided by Winnerwell. To find out more about the Winnerwell products you can go to the link directly below.

Hello my name is Lonnie and My wife is Connie.
Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Come along and sit with me by the campfire as I delve into these subjects in a way that you can easily learn to then do yourself.
I will show you how to make shelters, gather food, use wild medicines as well as start fires with or without matches, lighters, ferro rods, etc

We have plenty of coyotes here in Arkansas also I use to work for the Department of Corrections and the staff would go out at night to kill some of them before they attacked the calves which was with their mothers. I sat on the tailgate of my truck to see if they would come up to our place to hopefully shoot some, but they would never come up that close. We don't have moose here, but do have Elk, Whitetail Deer, and in some areas Black Bears. I don't hunt animals any longer and just use my many weapons for home defense only. I am glad that you all have some moose meat for Winter and that is great to keep you all well fed.

Our wild game meat that we harvest is to us, no different than beef is to most other folks. We use our moose, caribou etc in the same ways. We use our wild game meat for burgers, roast, spaghetti, meat loaf, stroganoff, steak etc. We do not buy beef but rather use our wild game meat instead.

Thankfully most Alaskan bears do not know if they like coffee or not. :O)

I'm staying up in the Colorado mountains on and off this summer. we've had coyotes calling and elk bugling and squealing basically every night, two moose (more than usual), a fox that jumps around having a nice time (he looks healthy). I was at a beaver pond watching the family through binoculars when two hunters passed by lugging out elk meat, which I'd never seen before. there are several herds around us. wonderful video so far, can't wait to find out what happens 🙂
