yup like i said i flew one in the south pacific for almost 3 years. some of the most dangerous strips i have ever seen. was a flying doctors plane

besides getting killed 12 times and eaten by cannibals , it was a pretty boring job lol most of the time in pure terror on some of those remote mtn strips uphill down hill barely wide enough for the landing gear. lots and lots of dangerous mtn s at the end of most of those runways

i flew a porter in the south pacific for a few years. good plane but fugly ugly land it anywhere and i mean anywhere. but damn is it a ugly plane

Yes the porter is a unique design. Great STOL plane, but if we are going that slow, I'll take the piston power. Jim

All true, but, if you want to cross the great expanse, and do it in the pilot's seat, these planes planes are amazing. Jim
