Alaskan Chainsaw Mill

Milling Lumber for another upcoming project. Trying a square grind crosscut chain this go around. There will be a part 2 of milling this log and there should be a bunch more milling videos coming up as I will need lots of lumber.

when turning 90 degrees, you need to cut it off from the back side so as not to cling to the dirty bark of the tree, then the chain will be sharp.

Like your videos and work! Question - 1. What is the make of the mill you are using? 2. When you start the second cut, wondering why you do not lay the log on the cut side and go from there as opposed to measuring out your second cut with a round side laying down on your 2 stump tables?

Thank you! 1. Granberg Alaskan mill 2. I could leave the log in the first position and make the 'bottom' cut and go from there, but I only need 1 square edge. Leaving it raw on the one edge allows me to use more of the wood (I trim most boards to width on a table saw) and the new bottom is scrap. So I dont know if that makes sense but it works for me.
