just for those watching who may not have experience, if you're cutting on a damaged or deadstanding tree, have somebody standing by as a spotter and be very careful! A widowmaker (tree top or high limb falling while cutting) is a terrifying experience.

The time and effort is well worth it today.. the cost of lumber now a days for simple little projects is absolutely crazy. Thinking of getting myself a simple little rig for my saw.

Yes 👍 Fk paying these prices I’ll be milling my own timber beams for carports etc on property. May have to buy Sheetmetal roofing but I’m ok with that.

I have the opportunity to buy a MF 202 for $4900 CDN. My hesitation to buy is because it is gas rather than diesel and it doesn't have a 3 point hitch. The 3 point hitch would be used for holding ballast (which all ballast videos seem to assume), but I like your barrel solution on the draw bars. What did you fill the barrel with? Do you also have liquid in the tires? I am impressed with the loader lift capacity. It's how I plan on using the tractor, moving things around. I am watching all of your MF 202 videos carefully, thanks!
@wheelinken

Thanks for watching. I have my barrel filled with rocks... no liquid in the tires. Not having the 3 pt wasn't a big deal for me either at first but now I wish it had it. I hope that one you're looking at is in decent shape for that price.

@@wheelinken everything seems to be functioning on it OK. Steering RAM leaks as in your video and it may need a gasket for the sediment bowl. Don't know if this is a good price. There is a MF 35 available in the area for $4500. It is diesel with a 3 point hitch and in good shape but the loader looks a little light and without a tilt. Mainly for lifting hay bails, I suspect.

@@stevebrooke9509 I got mine for like 1500 CAD with a backhoe and complete parts tractor... but that was like 7 years ago and the machine is pretty beat up. Good luck!

You can buy a ladder at any hardware store, chainsaw and supplies at a chainsaw shop or dealer and the mill can be found on the granberg website or saw shop. Google granberg Alaskan chainsaw mill.

On these saws, when they are new, get some assembly lube and wipe one or two drops around the rubber gasket of each cap before screwing it into the tank. It'll help keep them from leaking at the cap.

The saw I have has a muffler mod too and I think it could probably handle a 24 but think I'm gonna go with a 20. Doing a muffler mod may be something you want to think about because. It really gives some gain.

I am still using the 51010 as hydraulic filter, without strainer. I believe it will fit with the strainer. Not a lot to lose if it doesn't, as the 51010 is also the engine oil filter.
