luvly I don’t want to put you off the breed based upon noisy Copper! He only really makes noise when he plays or I ‘talk’ to him. Other Klee Kai are less noisy and some may be more. Each dog is different!

luvly My Klee Kai only talks if she’s locked inside and needs to go out to go toilet, or if we ask her to ‘speak’. Lots of dogs in my neighbourhood bark for no reason and it sets off a chain reaction of barking dogs but my klee kai is always curious and just listens to them :)

I have never owned a klee but I have had Huskies all my life and I love both breeds equally. But I hated when I had a 2 month old husky and people would ask if she was a pomsky which I do not like or agree with and I told them if I ever wanted a small husky I'd pick a klee over anything else your babies are beautiful!

I saw this dog when he was 8 weeks old and the cutest puppy I’ve ever seen. I fell in love right away and bought it. My baby just turned 3 years on June 3rd, my husband and I love her so much! Very smart dog! 😍But she doesn’t like to cuddle or be pet!

Alaskan Klee Kai As for Alaskan Klee Kai, they are a breed of their own. The breed was created by Linda Spurlin in the late 1970’s. She used 4 breeds through selective breeding and 20 years of dedication to achieve the look she visioned, a miniature version of the husky. The 4 breeds are Alaskan Husky, Siberian Husky, Schipperke and American Eskimo. The Alaskan Klee Kai became a recognized breed in 1997 with the United Kennel Club (UKC) and The American Rare Breed Association (ARBA). They usually weight between 10 to 25 pounds and come in a variety of colors. What is more, they tend to resemble Siberian Huskies more than Alaskan huskies. Klee Kai are also bred in three different sizes. They are as follows: Standard (15 to 17.5 inches)Miniature (13 to 15 inches)Toy (less than 13 inches) Miniature Husky The first Miniature Husky was bred by Bree Normandin during the 1990s. Miniature Husky puppies belong to the Siberian Huskies line and have been bred down in order to achieve the “miniature” size. They are, by essence, a result of an occurring mutation believed to be natural. In other words, they possess the same characteristics found in their older brothers and sisters. As far as the Siberian Husky Club of America Inc. and the AKC are concerned, the Miniature Husky breed is a name and nothing more. They do not recognize the Miniature Husky as a breed, nor a variety of Siberian Husky. According to Ms. Normandin the weight of a miniature husky is 15-30 lbs.

I train my own dog too He is a mini poodle and I started training him at 5 months. And he is one year and he can sit, paw, come, stay, down, and up We are still working on come and stay but he is amazing at the other things.

Yeah, after listening to that screeching. I think I'm quite happy with my much quieter, appropriately talkative Siberian huskies. Besides, the larger ones can pull you on a sled. don't get me wrong they're absolutely adorable and there are days I wish my husky's could stay little like that forever, but then I would lose all the benefits of the larger pure breeds.

I think it should be noted that many will say that AKK should generally not be trusted off the leash, at least in the USA. The reason is, like 1/2 of their breed the Husky, they love to run... and run.... aaaaaand run.

Personally I love white Alaskan Klee Kai but they’re not one of the four breed standard colours. Here’s what the UKC say: ‘Coat colors in shades of black, gray or red are acceptable provided that the facial mask is distinct and clearly visible, and there is a contrasting lighter color on the bottom half of the dogs face, throat, chest, breeches, feet, legs and underside. The overall appearance is one of symmetry.’ At the end, they add: ‘Disqualifications: Absence of distinct mask; solid coat color lacking distinct and contrasting markings; albinism.’
