They might have done it! This is a truck sim game I’ve been waiting for to hit consoles! Love the “survival” mechanic idea and I have now wish listed this on PS5 😊 thanks for the review! I’m way to sceptical about truck games since “real truck simulator” 🤣💀

The last 3 years I enjoyed SnowRunner for over 1880 hours because of its relaxed and immersive look and feel. I like the concept and features of this game. I have tried the first demo many months ago but honestly I doubt this comes anywhere close to today's standard. Maybe after 1 or 2 years of development it could become a decent game but they really need to give modders a tool to develop maps, mods and (branded) trucks. Without that this game will probably die out within the first 2 months once it get its average reviews on steam. Besides graphics I am also worried about the actually driving physics of the game. You are not just a truck but a truck driver sounds all fine but if the Core gameplay mechanics doenst feel immersive and authentic it's game over I am afraid. I am really hoping I am wrong but recent years in game development has led to disappointment over and over again.

Seems like a game with a lot of potential , the immersion is there for sure , potentially a great game in waiting hopefully the developers realise it .

Hopefully it will come to console soon in a decent state. If it can do that it will easily rise to the top of the trucking sim games on console.

A very balanced and fair take as per usual. Like you say, the console market is where this one can make a real impact, as long as it’s done properly. It seems like the devs are properly engaged, and not just out to mug the players like some others have done in the past, so that bodes well. A very interesting title for sure and one I hope realises it’s full potential.

Thanks for the great content. The honest reviews and playtests. I'm definitely looking forward to playing this game on console. You can tell the Dev's really take pride in the product and will continue to make the proper improvements unlike the other trucking games that came to console. I'm a trucker myself and the turn signals definitely don't blink that slow...lol. Also whenever the truck lights are on the trailer lights come on as well. These are easy fixes. I noticed when you turn it seems like there's resistance from the trailer. The trailer should turn smoother. The main thing they need to make sure works on console is the mirror's. I noticed some mirror bugs on your streams and if the mirror's on the console version don't work that'll be game breaking. I'm keeping my hopes up. I really like what I see so far.

Thanks for the information. I'm a console gamer (XSX) and just don't buy driving based simulators any more because being in a "no refunds" environment means that it's simply no longer worth the risk of hoping that a broken / poor performing game will be fixed.....and let's face it, the bulk of them never are. As for this game, well, two very important points spring to mind: "small team" and "brute force"....and those in itself immediately set alarm bells ringing where consoles are concerned. Add in the fact that the devs have already indicated that they seem happy to release a game that you've implied might benefit from a little more polish and yeah, here we go again down the same old path. Sorry for the negativity but I'm a console gamer who has forever relied on 'friendly and open' developers to remain friendly and open once they've gotten everyone's money - something that, as anyone on consoles can testify to, simply doesn't happen.

Thank You for all the input and honest opinions about this game. Seems preety grear compared to the shocking On The Road, Truck Driver and the rest of them so far. Developers seem genuine and care about their game and they dont get touchy like some bold guy that cant take criticism about their shocking game that it is still rubbish.

I think the size of the map (assuming that is the map size on the released version) is going to be one of the biggest let downs. Driving the same roads over and over again is not very appealing.

Definitely a lot of potential with this game for sure but Ai will make or break this game so they need to improve that before they even think of releasing.

I did enjoy the play test but it still is rough around the edges for a release while it is playable there are functions that are missing that could enhance life aspect like hygiene for example. It looks like it will work well on the next gen consoles like the series x and ps5 but keeping the graphics in auto is a must. The game crashed my 3070 on maxed out graphics when I got close to a town. Had to restart my computer for GeForce overlay to work again. The game has a lot of potential and I’m really interested on seeing its future, especially with how active the dev team is in the discord.

Ok admittedly I had doubts about this game but looking at it from a different perspective it's actually a creative idea what the Devs have done, they're not trying to compete with ATS or ETS2 but they don't seem to be hyping the game up for truck Sim fans unlike a certain other truck Sim

In my opinion in general its going in the right direction. But the look of the truck inside and out needs improve quite alot for the PC. If it was on the playstation looking like that that would be fine. Also like you said the Map size is very small and not many different roads for the same route. People will get bored quickly if the map doesn't change that's at the top for me

Has potential would like the to take advantage of unlicensed trucks and allow us to custimze the back cabin ie add bigger cabins add showers ect also the traffic needs ai fixing and also more variety of vechials on the road other trucks ect.

I'm still on the fence with the game but that's not their fault it's just what we've had before, I agree with you on the graphics i think they could use more time to sort it and get the qaulity up there to be a winner on console.

I'm in the playtest and I'm very worried. Once again,they made a mistake of prioritising PC. This game will be swallowed up by SCS games. Getting out of the truck was nice novelty,but became boring soon after. This should have been console first,given the gap that exists there. And with SCS now making moves to bring their games to console, they will wrap up that platform too

I play ATS/ETS2 and I would like to exit truck and do the thing this sim offers, I want to have a trucker sim but truck sim I wanna be the human but the truck and people like going out machine to manually do the condition of thing, look at Farming simulator one of the most popular mods that need you to exist the machine to connect cables from the mashing to the tractor to make it work, also why play a simulator if you don’t wanna do the boring part of the industry the sim simulate😂

@@thegotlandisfarmer8774 as I said,even people in the playtest said that the novelty wore off real fast. The survival mechanic are extremely basic,to the point of being a non issue. The truck maintenance is the same,hooking up the trailer is monotonous and became boring fast. The handling of the truck was very basic. There's no point making a truck game unless you Naik the handling. The map is nowhere near big enough or good enough. To say that mod on farm Sim is one of the most popular is a stretch. People like it,but vast majority don't use it. The game will be swallowed up by SCS,they have nothing to be afraid of

I would just like to have a decent trucking game on my Xbox. I used to play American truck Sam on my computer but I got bored.

I'm seriously hoping this will end up being a game that will continue to have updates and DLCs like SnowRunner. Having seen a few vid from creators who've played this game now I'm looking forward to it, and will probably buy it on release if the price is reasonable, and hope the bugs get ironed out with some updates. The only thing that keeps making me cringe is how your person gets out of the truck, if any health and safety person saw you do that irl you'd get a telling off for risking braking your ankle. It'd be nice if thy yput an option in the game to get out the way you're supposed to for those of us with experience in the industry. And yea the ai is dumb and needs fixing, but hay, drivers are dumb irl too 😆 I've been wanted to play eruo truck and american truck sim for a long time now. I bought both for my comp but because it keeps getting updates nether will run on my computer anymore, and the truck sim community feel like they look down on those who cannot afford to spend over £1000 on a gaming PC and so also look down on console players. Which kinda ticks me off buy if I'm honest. And the dev's lack of interest in console players is frustrating. So for me it's refreshing to have some devs who're willing to include the console community and not just look down on them and being snobs.

It has potential but seems a bit meh. I mean it clearly cant compete with ETS, even vanilla ETS without mods so it seems a waste. The whole survival thing, even the fuel and lube, its tacked on and a bit pointless when the game has a map so small and graphics which are very nice for PS4, having a 3080 in 4k producing this is a bit shocking tbh. If this was console only it would be average but would be the best of the bunch, being on pc puts it below par. I know we need to stop comparing to ETS etc. but that is the benchmark - this simply isnt good enough, put a few hours into this and you will get very bored of the map and routes, it needed to be 5 times this size at least, put the dev hours into that rather than the sandwich and protein bar shops. I dont want to hate on it, gamers need an alterative ETS, especially if they cant get it across to consoles but in this state this is nowhere near the mark.

Not necessarily , I play ATS ETS2 without mods active and the game is still great , so mods aren't everything in a game .

Tbh this review is pointless because it's a play test for a reason. Just do a proper review on the full release, it's like your telling people not to get the and putting them off. I don't care I'm still buying it even if I do own Euro and Truck Sim. I remember when you hyped up Truck Driver at the start and it was so terrible, and then you made a video slating it. But hey ho whatever floats your boat.
