Alaskan Three Story Treehouse Built With Recycled Materials

This amazing self built treehouse is a tiny house anyone would aspire to! We stayed in the treehouse section for a few nights this last Fall in Alaska. If you ever make it up to Alaska you HAVE to check this place out. I don't usually comment on these videos but I was drawn in both by the warmth of the builder/owner and just how magical this organically made and grown treehouse is. I can't say I will ever make it to Alaska from the UK and my poor knees would probably curse me but I would just absolutely just love to stay here. I can see myself sitting in the field house with a hot cuppa in hand contemplating my world as it is that day. It's a wonderful achievement and I can dream....

I see in your description that you stayed there last year.. It must have been a great place to get away. The reviews on AirBnB are all very positive. It is good to see people develop businesses like this kind of serendipitously. He turned a play project into a money maker. Both of these are cool little spaces.

👍It’s cool & interesting but I can’t say I’d want to stay there because just watching this video (maybe the video doesn’t do it justice) it just seems too cluttered, dark, gloomy, depressing & scary ☝️except for those 2 big donated windows - that was a nice view out (I’d have to sit in that one spot all day). All of that being said kudos to him...I do appreciate the effort & work that went into building it because frankly I can’t build anything & I seem to hammer my thumb more than I hammer nails. Thanks for sharing. 💞

Awesome, I love Darren’s story on how the fireplace was lifted (Block and tackle method) into the top section of the tree house…. Now that’s Innovation. I wonder how they deal with cottonwood tree cottony covering (seeds) that can cover everything. Great Story!!!

Hey there. I'm moving off grid into a 30 ft Yurt next spring,Did i miss how you power the place ie Solar/wind and how much does your water cost. I plan on a tank with Gravity, maybe on a hill running down if i find land like that. All i need to power is lights a 13 inch computer and some power tools etc etc ,pretty small foot print. As i plan to grow heirloom stuff galore ,your system maybe the better idea to take care of watering all at once.

We decided to insulate it because one winter we came up here and it was zero degrees and the wind was blowing throughout the room, and we had to explain to the authorities the frozen corpse of our guest.
