I am working on my Sports license and this plane is at the top of my list when I am licensed. What do you think of it, and do you think this would be a good first plane to last for awhile? Thanks.

If you can afford one, any cub or cub derivative are good first aircraft.

The Zlin shock or Shock Ultra would be a fantastic first plane and it is pretty much the best in the market for back country flying as it has an astoundingly slow stall speed ... Of course you need to learn Tail Dragger which has nothing to do with how difficult it is and everything to do with your natural reflexes and hand eye or i should say feet eye coordination ... New one is close to 200 grand you should know but I think the Zlin can be had as a kit as well .... Not sure your sport license covers the Shock but it does the Shock Ultra ... better check that

@RC-Karnickel Licensing was interrupted. My mother came down with cancer and just passed, with me as her only caretaker. I am sure I will start back on it at some point.

@RC-Karnickel I am just looking to get into the back country to go camping. I have a friend in Idaho and am thinking about staying out there for awhile to take my lessons. That will start me out in a challenging environment from the start, from knowledgeable CFIs.
