Exzellente Aufnahmen. Ich bin begeistert! Und ein schöner Flieger natürlich. Alles Gute und Grüße aus Berlin vom STOL CH701 Flieger Jens

91 mph on a diving pass, as fast as it will go in other words. It's a drag bucket, and that's with a 914. That open cowl, to get the heat out the 914 produces, is incredibly draggy, I know because my RANS S-7 had very similar, due to using a Subaru engine. All you guys getting all excited about these maxxed out STOL birds, don't forget landing and takeoff are a very small part of flying anywhere, it's all a compromise. They are superb at airshows, making KZbin videos, and STOL contests, but offer little over a less "STOLLY" bird. Increased fuel consumption, less range and payload, lower cruise speed, all for a bit shorter landing.

portnuefflyer Ultralights are limited in top speed by FAR 103. "Draggy" design is one of our lower priorities.

A bit shorter?

"Landing and takeoff are a very small part of flying."....no thanks, Bubb, I'll wait for the next flight. These are built to be STOL bush aircraft, you ninny. If you don't want a bush plane, don't buy one, dummy.

@@lurking0death I have a bush plane, and I fly more off airport than you I bet, and have for 30+ years. BUT...there is still and always will be a trade off even among STOL craft for another knot or two lower stall speed versus longer range. That's why I don't have slats, of any kind. Note I didn't say higher speed, but longer range, nice to have in remote areas.
